Trendy Lofts

This hotel is a little out of place in n. Charleston, but it’s a welcome change. The decor is very modern, so it really only appeals to a set group of people. That being said, I loved it. I’ll definitely stay in another aloft next time I travel.

Paid Expedia and charged again at hotel

I checked in at approx 1130 pm only to get some sleep before a 540 am flight the next morning. I had asked for a wake up call which I did not receive; luckily I made it to airport in time. I had paid Expedia in full and when I checked in did not realize but the front desk clerk charged me again but not the same rate I had paid Expedia but almost three times more. After I was home it showed up three days later. I called hotel and they told me only one person there could fix it and they did not know when the manager would be there, maybe tomorrow. They could really have cared less. I kept calling and wanted the home office, sales rep there or someone. They finally told me manager would be in that evening. Was not there the time they said she would be but I finally got her. Phone number I left was not correct on the message she was given so she said she could not reach me. Manager said she would credit ATM but was not done until a week later. This is totally unacceptable. I was not impressed at all.

It’s OK

Started off pretty impressed when I walked in. Once I checked in, it went down hill from there. So I check in, they give me a room that is already occupied. Go back to front desk, get an unoccupied room, my new has no towels. I go back to front desk to request towels, I mean I have been on the road for a while and would like to shower. I go shopping for a couple hours, come back still no towels. So I ended up going to front desk and refusing to leave until I get towels myself. Overall the hotel is nice, really retro. But the service is lacking. Make sure you use the lock on the door, never know when they will try to give your room to someone else.

Traveler's tip

I don’t think this is a hotel for families with small children, not a whole lot for them to do. The pool is very small. The hotel has a nice bar in the lobby which gets crowded and loud in the evenings. If you are doing girls weekend and shopping, this hotel is ideal. If you are there on business and need rest or have a family, find somewhere else to stay.
