A little out of the way, but worth it.
My partner and I loved the Westin. Very unique hotel with open air architecture that, while not new, was still conscious of and complementary to its surroundings. The staff was exceptional and the most gracious I had encountered anywhere but perhaps the RItz Carlton. Our room was gorgeous, with marble floors throughout, including on the well appointed balcony. There was a slight musty oder, but this is the tropics after all and it wasnt too distracting. Dehumidifiers were provided standard in the room to help with this problem. The two negatives were the cliental which were, on a whole, not the fittest bunch. This was all the more apparent given the wide use of the incredible pool, equipped with a swim up bar. The second negative was the 10-15 minute cab ride to the downtown area and far superior beaches, which should definitely not be missed.
