A trip of a lifetime

We had a wonderful time. The island was beautiful and the hotel was perfect. We stayed in a 6th floor room away from the pool area and it was paradise. Thr views wer incredible. We snokeled everyday. It is best to get a rental car so you can travel around the island at your leisure. We would love to go back and this hotel is in a perfect location to shops and food.

Waterfalls and snokeling are a must

Great Hotel and Location - Would definitely return!

We recently stayed a week at this hotel and loved our stay. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The bed and pillows extremely comfortable. The hotel staff was great - always greeting you with an Aloha or good morning and a smile. The pools are great, especially the infinity pool. The salt water just melts any stress away. The location is very convenient to drive to Kona and the few times we did drive down to Kona, it really wansn’t that bad of a drive. The paths you walk on to get to the beach wind around the fish pond or some interesting points. Our one point we were concerned with in reading other reviews was that there isn’t much shade around the pools, but it ended up not being a problem at all - we were able to find enough shade to enjoy full days by the pool. Rental car is a must on the Big Island, but parking at the hotel was never a problem. The walk from the self parking lot to the hotel was never a bad walk.

Definitely shop at the local grocery store the next light after Waikoloa Beach Dr. and join their savings card program. We went our first day and got sodas, water and food for breakfast and a few lunches and saved quite a bit of money. The Island Gourmet store in the Queens Marketplace is also a great place to shop for sandwiches and snacks - a little bit priceier than the Foodland, but an easy walk from the hotel. If you like sushi, it was very fresh and very good. Their sandwiches are also great as a lunch by the pool. When going to Kona - if you like calamari - you have to stop by the Kona Inn Restaurant - their calamari appetizer is extremely tasty and very good as is their Kona Mud Pie.
