Fabulous location and modern hotel!
This hotel was pretty terrific. Our 5th floor balcony view of the plaza was gorgeous. The beds were excellent as were the linens. The shower is fabulous - big and shoots out at all angles. The lighting controls were so hi tech that they were a bit of a pain... as was the television/DVD/Radio/CD set up. However, they did have a lot of options. The bar is a real hot spot but very expensive, as is the restaurant. The breakfast buffet is also expensive and not particularly outstanding by European standards. Be sure to ask for the discount plan for breakfasts....sign up for a hotel plan and pay for one breakfast each time but you get two. All in all I would recommend this hotel highly. The staff - particularly the women - were excellent and couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. Again, the location is excellent. You can walk to everything from there.

Great Hotel
We had a fantastic stay at the ME Madrid, Will happily return on next visit to Madrid .... staff are very helpful and pleasant. The central location was an added bonus!! We loved it !!

Small rooms/bad showers
We recently stayed in this hotel while visiting Madrid. The location is great; it is right in the heart of everything. HOwever, the room was extremely small and the shower drain didnt work. The shower didnt drain properly, so we asked to be moved to antoher room. They did move us, but the shower in this new room still didnt drain. So, we figured it had to be a problem in all their rooms. The staff was helpful, but no too friendly.
There is a great and inexpesinve restaurant near the hotel clalled "lateral". WE had dinner there almsot every nigth. Also, we were going to go shopping at the store in Serrano (madrid rode drive), but they were closed on Sunday. So, be aware some stores and restaurants are closed on sundays.
