A Week of Honeymooning
My husband and I was greeted nicely when we came into the hotel, which we didnt know Germany, but they knew some English. The hotel was easy to find and near a S-Bahn (this was a plus), which we really needed for our trip. The room was a nice size for two people and clean. There was a safe in the room, but it didnt look like it had a lock on it to be used. There was also an air unit, but we didnt understand how to use it, so we slept with the window open during the night (which wasnt that bad, but still warm in the room). The bathroom shower would leak each time we used it and water would get all on the floor, which we had many towels to put there on the floor because of it. The breakfast in the mornings was great with many different cheeses and meats to pick from and drinks. The people at the front were very helpful and nice. The cleaning person seemed to enjoy hiding the beds blanket while cleaning, because each time we came back from site seeing the blanket was in a different place in the room. Overall, we did enjoy our stay at the hotel and would tell others.

Okay enough if you plan to be outside of the hotel the entire time
Room was fairly pricey for what you get. Great location next to S-2 train line, but otherwise fairly far away from all the main attractions. Bathrooms are outdated and need renovated. Room was a bit small; comforter not large enough to cover entire bed and bed not that comfortable. If you are looking to have a cheaper (relative to city center) place to stay for sleep at night only, then this is the right hotel for you. Otherwise, find some place further out that is more comfortable or pay the higher price to be in the city center.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
This is the best price you will get close enough to the city, but we were still 4 stops from the Hauptbahnhof (main station). Given the transportation costs to get to and from all the main attractions, consider getting a closer hotel with a higher price. It will even out the costs in the end and make life easier.

One Star too many
I stayed 25 days at Hotel Rivoli. Bathroom remodeling on the rooms next to me began at 8:00am with the electric jack hammer blasting out the old wall & floor tile and the remodel work continued for two weeks. The towels were worn, not soft & fluffy, perhaps hand me downs from the 4 star Rivoli Ambiance next door. There were large mold areas in two locations in the shower (have pictures). The heat was never on. It would have been nice to return to a warm room on some cold damp days but that never happened. The front desk did not seem to be very friendly, only saying hello after I greeted them, otherwise they just looked at you as you went in or out. When I did need help the front desk staff was helpful and provided the information I needed. The breakfast was 12 Euro which then translated to $16.80 US and just did not seem worth it for the selecton provided. Use the door lock on the inside of the door to lock your door. Room service gives you about a 3 second warning before they open the door. Yes, 3 seconds! Just about enough time for you to think "Is someone at the door?" and then it opens and there you are, hopefully clothed. They start cleaning the rooms at 8:30am, about the same time the jack-hammer started so I didnt have to worry about sleeping in.
Watch out for the porn channels (2) if you have children! They show previews of the porn channels all the time so if you go channel surfing you WILL pass these channels every time you pass Ch 32 & 33. DO NOT let your children use the TV remote! Inventory the MiniBar upon arrival! I was charged for three items that I never used/took from the MiniBar. I had to take the disputed items from the refrigerator down to the front desk, show them that the items were still there to get the charges removed.
