First Getaway without the Kids
From the moment our taxi pulled up, we were impressed. The customer service was outstanding...from the front desk to the restaurants and our favorite, the pool side service. Everyone we came in contact with were amazing and made us feel like we were truly on a vacation. All hotel employees also spoke English so communicating was not an issue. The pool was heaven, with an edge that you could lean on to admire the beach...the water was a comfortable temp so you could stay in as long as you desired. It was extremely hot and humid when we went (9/3-9/7) so I pretty much spent my time floating around in the water to stay cool. The breakfast buffet, although expensive, was VERY GOOD and worth the money to have the convenience of not going outside the resort in the morning. The Spa prices were too high for us...we opted to wait and do massages at home. The location of the hotel to downtown is a bit far, but we made the adventure in to town several times on the bus and took a few taxis in the evening when we were dressed for dinner and wanted air conditioning. Although we would stay here again, we will probably try another part of Mexico before returning to Puerto Vallarta, just because we havent gotten out much! Dont miss out on an adventure with Vallarta Adventures! We did the Canopy Tour...I could have zip lined all day if they let us!
Take the bus to get around town. Its cheap and an adventure! We were told to look for the blue bus stop signs or "groups of people hanging together" and those would be the bus stops. Funny, but true! Hang out with the group and the busses will stop!

OK HOTEL
THE BEACH WAS TERRIBLE...WATER WAS BROWN, I DIDNT GO IN ONE TIME IN 6 DAYS. NOT SURE WHY IT WAS SO BROWN OR IF IT WAS THE SEASON. PV IS A NICE PLACE TO VISIT IF THERE WERE NOT SO MANY TIME SHARE PEOPLE HASSELING YOU 24-7! ALSO THE PEOPLE TRYING TO SELL YOU A TRIP IN EVERY SQUARE INCH OF THE CITY, MARINA, ECT... I APPROVE THE HOTEL, BUT THERE ARE BETTER CITIES AND BEACHES TO VISIT.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
EAT OUT OF THE HOTEL WHERE YOU CAN FIND BETTER DINING. BUS IS EASY TO USE AND CHEAP!

Nice, clean and quiet
We stayed for 5 nights that we booked through expidia. The hotel is only a short cab ride from the airport. The staff was always friendly and the room was pretty typical of a resort hotel room. Bed was comfy and the flat screen tv was great. We were on the 9th (top) floor overlooking the pool and loved the balcony covered in bogenvilla (sp?) flowers. The internet cafe had decent machines, and the connection was pretty fast. The pool was nice and clean with a swim-up bar, a vollyball net and a little island with palm trees and a waterfall. The Hot Tub was not so great cause all the jets are at the same height so you could only massage your lower back. The food at the hotel was ok, not great. We had one meal at the one by the beach and ate the rest at the little coffee shop / deli. Expensive, but easy for a quick bagel or sandwich.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Taxies are fine, but take the local bus!! Only 50 cents and more like real Mexico than anything else in P.V. Just make sure the bus you get on goes back to your specific hotel.
