loved the hotel
The hotel is very nice. The food in the hotel restaurant is excellent. There are lots of homeless young people in the neighborhood. I am very sensitive so I would feel sorry for them. The beds and pillows are extremely comfortable as is the double shower head. I wished that the hotel did not charge a daily fee for internet use in the room. I heard that there is no charge to use the internet in the beautiful living rooms off the lobby area.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
The Portland Coffee shop two doors down from the hotel has excellent coffee and baked goods.

Convenient for the Portland Marathon
I stayed at the Westin Portland for the weekend to run the 2009 Portland marathon. The Westin is just a few blocks from the start/finish line and the registration expo. The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable and I was able to sleep well before the race. I would not hesitate to stay at the Westin Portland if I run the marathon again. Free Wi-Fi would have been nice, but I knew it was an extra fee when I booked the room. Within walking distance of Powells Books, which is always interesting to check out while in Portland.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
I drove to Portland from Seattle and didnt need my car during the weekend while staying at the Westin. I parked at the 10th and Yamhill SmartPark garage just two blocks away over the weekend for $10. Hotel valet parking is about three times that a day.
