Not Impressed...

The location was pretty central and close to two different tube stations, but the bed left a lot to be desired. If you’re anything like me, the bed has to be good or what is the point of staying there if you can’t sleep? It was like sleeping on a cardboard box stuffed with socks. Also, the pillows were more like pillows for decoration on a couch rather than for head and neck support while you sleep. They were small in size and had almost no stuffing. The staff was very nice, and they kept the room clean. However, the hotel its self smelled of gas 3 out of 5 days and the staff acted as if nothing was new. Also, their wireless internet was difficult to get logged into and their prices for laundry service was astronomical. In the end, it served it purpose by providing us clean shelter at a reasonable price in a good location, but I sincerely doubt we would ever stay there again.

When you go, be prepared

When you go be prepared with the following: According to hotel amenity we should have had: concierge service, ticket assistance, limited room service and extra linens in room but these amenities were not there. The front desk tried to answer our questions but they were far from concierge service; tickets we needed we had to find them on our own; no room service or extra linens. Coffee shop listed was not US idea of coffee shop with food it was just coffee, tea and brews. The room we stayed was very, very small. Bathroom had a great lights and water pressure for shower. The location of this hotel was great close to tube stations, some attractions, restaurants and grocery stores. We will go back and stay again.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Take an advantage of tube. Buy day or three-day pass. Be prepare to walk on uneven pavement. I mean WALK. Know where bathrooms are. Always keep 20/30 p. for paid facilities.

Very satisfied - would definitely go back

My husband and I chose the Quality Crowne for our recent trip to London. We were very satisfied with the hotel. The property and rooms were very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It was located a quick five-minute walk to the Gloucester Road tube stop, and a block from a Sainsbury grocery store. Our room was small, but functional. Perfect for visitors who will be out and about most of the day. The air conditioner left a bit to be desired; we were there during an uncharacteristically hot week and the AC just couldn’t keep up. But overall, we were very pleased and will definitely return. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Buy a Travelcard for the tube. It will save you money and hassle -- one card will get you on and off the tube and buses with no need to stand in line for tickets.
