Very Basic Hotel
This very basic hotel makes the cheap hotels in the US look like palaces. Our room was on the second floor up a very narrow stairwell. The room had no amenities or decoration but seemed clean. There was no phone, alarm clock, internet and an old TV that got 4 stations. Being in the front the street noise was loud from about 6:00 to 23:00-bring earplugs. The breakfast is limited to corn flakes or eggs/bacon/beans with white bread toast and juice that seemed to be Tang. Coffee and Tea. No other offerings. The staff worked hard and were friendly enough. The location is great with two tube stations and a train station close by. You get what you pay for. Next time I will spend more.

Convenient, friendly and comfortable hotel
We stayed in a family room for four, quite comfortable in size. The bathroom was small but definitely adequate (shower, no tub). The staff was friendly and the full English breakfast was very welcome. (Short wait sometimes.) The hotel is a short walk from Paddington station. If you were to stay in the summer, the need to open the window for cool air could be a problem because of street noise. We would definitely stay there again.

It is what it is
Basically you get what you pay for. If you just need a place to lay your head in the incredibly expensive city of London then it’s fine. Very central and there is A/C. No lift and we were on the top floor, winding vertigo-inducing staircase, plus baggage = adventure workout, but besides that it was fine.
