This Motel 6 is awful
Upon entering our room for the first time, the curtains were ripped, dirty, and the curtain hooks were laying in the floor (where they stayed the entire week), the window is wide open with no screen, there is bugs crawling on the beds, there is cigarette burns in the blankets, stains on the mattresses and the bedspreads. There is an 8x10 piece of paper covering a large hole in the bathroom door which has been painted over to hold in place, which is peeling off.The shower has water and dirt dripping from a hole in the cieling above. The toilet doesnt flush unless holding down the handle. The hotel manager and subsequent staff do not speak english, and felt like they just brushed off our concerns about the room condition. Nothing was done about any of these issues the entire week we were there. The room was very large with 2 full size beds, couldve easily fit a third full bed in there with plenty of room. Had a cute little table and chairs in a cubbyhole, but no lighting in that area. Lighting only over the beds and the desk area. No clocks in the hotel anywhere. They were beginning to do some remodeling in the front lobby though. Not a good neighborhood, though it turned out to be quiet after all. Closer to Maryland than to downtown Washington, D. C. Would not recommend this particular Motel 6 to anyone.
Traveler's tip for business travelers
Closer to Maryland than to Washington, D.C. Shopping malls are close by, not much in the way of fast food restaurants, more along the line of individually owned restaurants. Quite diverse, quiet area though. People drive crazy, no respect for the lane markings, blinkers, or traffic signals. Hefty parking tickets are issued, note street signs, and watch your clock.
