awful place to stay
This was the most discusting place I have ever stayed. The beds were dirty. There was blood on the bedspread. The sheets were not changed. Just plain awful. We made them bring new sheets and bedspreads. We put them on ourselves. We left early because our child got sick with fever and they would not refund us the money for the second night even though we left the first night. Just an awful experience. I have travelled all over and never experienced this. Please do not stay here. Expedia was great though. They felt bad about our situation and gave us a good credit for the next stay. Exedia is great to work with.

Nice Location in Mackinaw City
We stayed at the Northpointe Inn during a recent overnight trip to Mackinaw City. It was just what we were looking for: a nice, clean hotel that was located close to the attractions in the downtown area. The Northpointe was also conveniently located close to the ferry service that goes to Mackinac Island. The hotel does offer some extras. The waterpark was nice, but it is designed for younger kids. We enjoyed the variety of foods served at breakfast. The beach was also a nice extra that we enjoyed at the Northpointe. Overall, the hotel was a good value. I will stay there again on my next trip to Mackinaw City.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
The hotel has an area on the beach with picnic tables. Bring your own cooler and food to enjoy a picnic on the beach during your stay.

This hotel was okay.......
The room was quite small and quite warm -- even with the air conditioning on. Halls were quite dark -- my daughter actually felt scared. View from beach was nice. Nice sandy beach where one could walk out a long distance. Quite close to Mackinaw Citys attractions. Nice water park in hotel with lifeguard on duty. Continental breakfast was very basic. On the morning we checked out, we waited close to 1-1/2 hours for a luggage cart. Unfortunately, we never were able to find one. After hauling all of our bags down the stairs and carrying them to our car (four separate trips were necessary), I actually was getting chest pains. I checked multiple times with the front desk but was not offered any help. The beach and water park did make the stay nice for our children.
