Hooked on the RWI Resort
We loved everything about the resort and the island. The 1 bedroom garden view suite was beautiful. Resort well maintained in like-new condition with beautiful grounds and pools. Mango Reef restaurant was excellent for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and is considered by many we spoke to, to be one of the best on the island. RWI is on prime beach location -- Grace Bay. Beach access is very convenient and the beach is phenomenal: warm crystal clear turquois water with soft powdery sand beaches. Snorkling off of beach is fun but uneventful since the reefs are too far out. Consider a road trip to Coral Gardens for snorkel-site seing. Resort staff attentitive and friendly. Recommend renting a car. Briitish territory so driving thru many round abouts on left side of road is exciting! RWI proximity to shops and other restaurants is great. RWI is only a 10 minute drive from Airport. Nice american-style supermarket nearby. We are planning to go back to RWI next year.

Excellent Hotel & Resort
We picked this hotel after reading the reviews. We had never been to the Turks & Caicos before although we have traveled extensively. Both the Hotel and the Island were excellent, and we will be returning. Everything about the hotel was excellent. We arrived at 10:15pm, after closing time for the restaurant. But they accommodated us with a great pizza and salad, and delightful conversation. We needed to switch rooms (as we wanted a king bed) but that was painless. The hotel beach was perfect, free kayaks and Hobie Craft. Also free bikes. They should add sailboards, as a suggestion.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
The Island restaurants are expensive. And, relative to Los Angeles, where we are from, probably only 3 stars. A meal for two, with a glass of wine, is $120-150. Rent a car - itll be less than taxis and provide more freedom. You drive on the left, but easy to do. Traffic is non-existent. Pick up some groceries, to save some $$ and time. We only ate in the more upscale restaurants, so cant comment on the "lunch-counter" type places. The residents are very friendly. Very safe place to visit.
