Nice place to stay, eat someplace else
I stayed at the Colonial for one night while out East on business. By the time I got to Brattleboro I needed a place with a pool and hot tub. As an added bonus they also had a sauna and a steam room and I used these rooms extensively. Vermont is beautiful and this hotel has a kind of small town feel to it. I ate at the restaurant at the hotel and ordered a burger medium well. My burger came out rare. For an upscale restaurant I found this to be out of line. They should know how to cook a burger. The beer selection, though, was fantastic. They had an good assortment of beer I have never heard of and I sampled a few of them. The food was only so-so and the service was poor. This is the main complaint I have about the hotel.

A Pleasant Brattleboro Rest Stop
The hotel staff were very courteous and helpful. The hotel exterior is in need of a good paint job. We found the restaurant to have excellent food; however, the pasta portions were enough for two people and the prices were a bit high. The Inn complimentary morning breakfast left something to be desired. The room was quite spacious and comfortable .. got a good nights sleep.
