Great to get away from the typical hotel chains
Very enjoyable stay. Loved the location and service. Nice decor, comfortable room, pleasant atmosphere - gardens, birds, etc.

The El Rey is King!
We thoroughly enjoyed the El Rey hotel. The renovated rooms are extremely comfortable yet retain their vintage Southwestern charm. The beds and pillows were luxurious. Great pool too! We opted to stay in one of the original rooms close to the road and were concerned about noise. The staff assured us it would not be a problem because the walls are about 18" thick. They were absolutely right; we couldn’t hear anything outside. Our only criticism was the excessive styrofoam we had to use for our breakfast. Get a dishwasher!

Very good experience
My 20 year old son and I had an excellent experience at the El Rey inn. The room was comfortable and clean; one maintenance problem (fluorescent light in the bathroom) was fixed on our return in the afternoon. The garden area, which was pleasant and relaxing, was an additional treat. We stayed two nights, and could certainly recommend this inn to others.
