convenient and comfortable
I love Kimpton hotels and have stayed in some that are a bit more updated, but the Triton was what I had expected. The location is great and the neighborhood is safe and there is no shortage of places to eat and drink. The wine hour is always a treat and the staff was friendly. The computer in the lobby should be free to guests, though.

Artists clubhouse
From the blue lights in the elevators, to the snack apples or cookies left out for your convineince you sense something different about this hotel. What makes Triton most special is its perfect location. At the gates of China town, a short walk from East beach’s italian cafe’s and a little farther to Coit tower, blocks from union square and the trollies to Fisherman’s market as well as the historic lines that run up Market street to the embarkadero and the Farmers Market. Rooms are quirky comfy and clean. A new york times awaits you on the end table in the hall and the complementary evening wine tasting can be followed up at the wine bar right nest door. These pluses easily make up for the old, old plumbing and poor laundry service! Aveda soaps and fluffy towels help too.

Inexpensive and comfortable
A very good deal if you avoid the valet parking and opening the fridge. The room was smallish but comfortable. The staff pays attention to you. Great location if you shop. I will stay there again.
