Just a few meters from St. Mark’s / San Marco
What a great location. Perhaps just 5 doors down from San Marco. Because of this, there are lots of restaurants and shops nearby along with all the attractions associated with the location. Another important point for Venice is that San Marco is a key hub for all the boat shuttles - both the local ones as well as the airport shuttle. The room was very small, but fine for 1 person. The bathroom was normal sized, and was actually larger than the room. The staff was friendly and everyone spoke English.

Never again!
It was located at a great spot near Mark’s square but beware it si always noisy people stay up late, late 3 AM. It was ona busy street people always walking and smoking below our window. The wall paper was peeling off the walls, the carpet was old and dirty. I wouldn’t walk without shoes on. The shower water trickled out and never would regulate the temperture. It was impossible to wash your hair, I had to do it in the sink. The bathroom was so.o.o small that when you stood at the sink and turned around in place your knees were on the toilet. Just not right for all the money that it was.

Beware ongoing renovations and ignorant staff at front desk
Jackhammering from 7AM all day as they expand the existing hotel; put in a room so small my suitcase took up the entire floor space; three days before my room was changed to a room with bath, an indiferrent front desk; non-English staff (except the barkeeper, who was invaluable). Yes, steps from San Marco, Excellent buffet breakfast. AND, I booked for 13 nights in advance by several months thru Expedia. There is a much better Best Western directly across the tiny street. I will stay there on my next Venice trip.
