Overall a Nice Experience
Overall our stay was very nice. We did have one negative experience with one of the front desk staff. Having experienced several days of loud bangs occurring frequently above us we called to inquire about it. We thought maybe it was a storage room, laundry room, hidden fitness room, who knew? Well, her response to us was: "Do you want to check out?" We were a bit stunned. Eventually she agreed to keep the room open for as long as possible. But that remark stayed with us for the entire stay. When we went down to the main building for breakfast you could hear her a mile away. She was just very loud, sometimes obnoxious, and not what you want to deal with on a holiday. That being said, our room was wonderful. The complimentary breakfast was suprisingly good. We did the wine/cheese only one afternoon. The wine was okay, but the cheese & crackers were yummy. The location of the Inn was one of its best features. Convenient to everything. Staying here was well worth the price. We’ve stayed at better places in Monterey, but this was too good of a deal to pass up.

Great Affordable Hotel!
I searched and searched for a reasonably priced hotel in Monterey and The Victorian Inn was perfect for what I wanted! It was affordable without my husband and I having to sacrifice quality. The continential breakfast was tasty (fresh fruit and oatmeal!) and the wine and cheese receptions in the afternoon were so cozy. We could walk to the Aquarium and Cannery Row in just minutes! Our bed was comfy and the fireplace was just the icing on the cake!

Great place to stay near Cannery Row!
We booked not long before our trip, and were under the impression that no top floor rooms were available. We took a second floor room, hoping that the herd of stomping buffalo that usually resides above us on lower than top floor rooms was vacationing elsewhere. But no - there was a really noisy bunch in the room above us. I went to the front desk to see if they could do anything about it, and they offered us a suite on the top floor! It was nice and quiet there, and the suite was an upgrade from the room we had booked. The continental breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese were also nice extras. I would definitely stay there again.
