PRICEY for the "water view"
We got a better rate through Expedia for booking a water view room--but they put us on the lowest floor--streetside and barside with a very limited water view. Noisy on Friday night unitl late.

Better than I ever imagined!
My daughter and I selected the hotel together for our vacation in San Francisco. We loved absolutely everything about the hotel. First of all, the location was perfect for me as I got healthy food at the Market; was able to walk to the Nike Marathon Race Start and Expo in Union Square; was able to walk to the Wharf and Pier 39; and get public transportation easily. The hotel staff was super friendly and polite. They repsonded to all my needs for directions, advice, additional towels and shampoos, and for transportation. The spa and restaurant in the hotel were both convenient and wonderful. The daily complimentary yoga class was great and the fitness center was okay. I was able to get a day pass to the five story YMCA one block away. I would go back to this hotel in a heartbeat. LOVED every moment I was there!

Beautiful hotel, not much else to do
We loved the hotel (and the free wireless was a great perk), but we arrived late (about 10 p.m.) on a Friday night and were told by the front desk that our only option for dinner was room service because all the restaurants within walking distance were closed for the night. The concierge confirmed that the closest place would be a $15 cab ride (each way), which was a bummer. Otherwise, we loved our stay. Everyone was nice and helpful and the room was beautiful. Wed stay again, but eat on the way in!!
Traveler's tip on dining
Eat before checking in--especially after 8 p.m.!
