Interesting place to stay
Nice place to be, comfortable, quiet, only a little too small in room and bathroom size.

It wasnt great, but at least it wasnt expensive.
Expedia gives this a 3-star rating--I would say 1 star is more like it. Picture the cheapest roadside motel youve ever stayed in and this might live up to your expectations. This isnt a building, its a boat, which we knew before we booked it, but we had some charming, romantic idea in mind which bore no resemblance to this place. Its essentially a river cruise ship--central hall with cabins on each side--with all of the cramped conditions and none of the amenities or class. First, its moved WAY across the water, so you have to take a 20-minute ferry ride (at least its free) just to get to the city of Amsterdam. Theres worn-out, thrift shop furniture in the lobby, the rooms are clean enough but VERY spartan, theres no A/C, the walls are paper thin, and the internets not free but the porn channel on TV is (this IS Amsterdam, after all). Oh, and on weekends, the restaurant boat next door blasts music until late into the night. On the plus side, theres a bowl of free apples at the reception desk, and the rate we got was even cheaper than whats advertised on the side of the boat for "luxury rooms" (all the rooms are the same--there is NO luxury to be found here). If all you want is a cheap place to sleep (after the music is done), this is your hotel.
