The hopping place in Boulder
The St. Julien lobby and bars have become an absolute magnet for the see-and-be-seen crowd in Boulder. They seem to have gotten something right -- live music, dancing in the lobby and ballroom on weekends, two buzzing bars just off the lobby, Saturday afternoon tea, all of which attracts a well-heeled crowd. At the same time, our room was elegant and surprisingly quiet, and one barely had to mention something and it was done. The spa services were excellent as well (but do book in advance of your trip). It is also perfectly located -- you can walk to all the interesting shops and restaurants on Pearl street. The only downsides were somehwat scatterbrained service during breakfast at Jills (the restaurant) but I supect trainees were the culprit, as the chefs stepped up as soon as they realized orders were getting mixed up and not getting delivered on time. Another slight inconvenience was a rather crowded spa womens waiting area on a weekend -- 10 women waiting and chatting in a medium size lounge isnt exactly serene -- however, it was the mother-daughter sorority weekend. All in all a fabulous hotel!

Best in Boulder
I was very impressed with the St. Julien. Terrific service all around. Nice, friendly, helpful staff. Big, clean room with very comfortable beds, and a great location. Absolutely no complaints.
