What a gem!
This delightful little hotel is tucked in the heart of the Victorian beach town of Spring Lake. While it is not on the beach, the walk to the shore is along quiet streets full of beautiful old houses, and it is right across the street from a lovely park. The hotel itself offers a variety of rooms with fabulous amenities like wood-burning fireplaces, for which you get fresh logs every day; tremendous soaking tubs; DVD players; and refrigerators. The hotel staff is friendly and anxious to help. Breakfast is typically continental (muffins, danishes and cold cereals), and the coffee is awful, but they do a nice job of varying the offerings, and the staff stays on hand to help with special requests. I’ve stayed twice, and it has become an off-season destination as well.
