Tower23 Exceptionally Good
My room was better than expected! Hotel staff was excellent. Jrdn restaurant staff not up to expectations, but the food was fine. There was enough to do in the nearby Pacific area for four days that I did not need a car. Hotel interior nicely designed by the same architect that did the Hard Rock Hotel, Gaslamp. But for some reason, there are steps or ramps at every floor from the elevator to the rooms! I hope to return.

This hotel is excellent. It’s right off the beach so it’s convenient to the boardwalk and all of the shops, restaurants, etc. It’s also close to all of the restaurants in PB...the hotel itself is spotless...it has a modern flare which is a nice change...the staff are friendly and clean all day long...the service is impeccible...I would stay there again without hesitation...some of my friends ate at the restaurant and said it was delicious...I didn’t eat there myself...we had a great time sitting around the fire pit...the bad - no pool, but it wasn’t that warm anyway...no gym...but you can buy a pass to a local 24 Hour Fitness which was excellent...and we had to pay $20 a night for parking there...which I didn’t think was necessary! Overall, it is a great place to stay...

Not exactly what we’d hoped
We chose this hotel hoping that it would not be overrun with children - they have a bar, no kid activities, etc. It seems to be a chic, modern place (unlike most surrounding hotels) and has a great deck with heaters and a fire pit. When we were there it was overrun with small children running crazy on what would have been a peaceful deck. They brag about their Tempurpedic beds, but then they cover them with thick feather beds which basically eliminates the foam benefits. I think it is probably the hippest place to stay in Pacific Beach, but we’ll go to another area next time.
