Great
Our family loved it, especially the great room and walk-out access to Vail Village. It was a great get-away with a great price in September.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
During the summer, park in Vails public lot to save money on the daily parking fees at the Lodge. During the winter, park at the Lodge; nothing is free in Vail during the winter!

Great Location, Great Hotel
This hotel was very enjoyable. The airline had lost our skis, the concierge had it waiting the next morning. The "Wildflower" Restaurant was adequate, fun, and overpriced. Great location right on the slopes. Although there was no a/c, this did not effect the experience.
Traveler's tip on dining
If one is eating in the hotel, the Cucina Rustica is a better bet than its more expensive counterpart (the wild flower)

Tough economic times means additional fees to customers
This is my 3rd time staying at the Lodge. Great location and last 2 visits were excellent. This time they have added fee for valet, even if you dont use it and a fee for pool / hot tub use! Not to mention they way overcharged me for 2 shots of vodka delivered to our room! I guess times are tough and they will get a little more money out of the customer with ridiculous charges! front desk staff not friendly when I questioned charges
