Good Location on Reforma

The Embassy suites was a pleasent surprise. The location was excellent and its Argentinean Restaurant "Evita" was excellent. Free internet at the business center was a nice touch.

Good hotel for the price

good, safe location. The rooms are quite large. The internet costs 11 dollars per 24 hours, which is way too much. The front desk people were excellent in assisting in everything about my stay and helped greatly in recommending excellent activities and easteries. A good place for the money.

We are very happy with this hotel

Would better just only 1 thing-the pool should be somewhere on open space (on the roof) but the rest is very good.

Beautiful boutique-like hotel on Reforma

This was my second stay, and it was every bit as good as my first visit. They allowed me to check in early, as a room in my requested category was available. They did not charge me for wired Internet access in my room either. Staff were friendly and welcoming during my entire stay. Recent comments say that the evening reception has gone done down a notch, as has the breakfast buffet, but I thought both were absolutely excellent - as good or better than my previous visit a year ago. Some reviewers have also commented that the hotel is not in a prime location, but I disagree. It’s right on Reforma, about halfway between the Zocalo and Chapultepec Park/Polanco/Condesa/Roma area, so for me the location is perfect. If you don’t like walking to these areas, you might have to cab it or Metro. Not a problem for most people.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Several Metro stations are within a reasonable walking distance from the hotel.

not for tourists

Tourists should stay in the historic center. The location of this hotel is not convenient. Will have to take taxis everywhere. The hotel taxis cost three to four times the taxis on the street, which tourists are told to avoid. The main problem with the room is that the bedroom had no window, but the sitting room did. We could have traded for a suite with a window in the bedroom, but not in the sitting room. Very claustrophic feeling to the hotel. Even with the complimentary breakfast and happy hour, this hotel is overpriced for Mexico city for tourists!

One of the best hotels!!!

One of the best hotels I have stayed in. The staff was very friendly, the room was very clean, the A/C worked(outside temp. was about 90 degrees). The complimentary breakfast excellent, overall value. If we ever get to go back, this will be the hotel to stay in.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Take the tour bus which stops right across the street from the hotel. Takes you around the major tourist points of Mexico City. You are allowed to get on and off at the different stops and all for the same low fee.

Great Hotel and great value for families!

Our second stay at this hotel. And it is good, a bit expensive for two persons, but a great value if you are a family of four! The breakfast is really good, with excellent service. The managers reception has declined a bit since our first stay a year ago, when we actually got food! Do not count on it as a meal, it is merely popcorn and nuts but the drinks and service are excellent. All in all: The service is great, everyone is helpful and the location is perfect. You walk to Zocalo in about 20 minutes. Zona Rosa is ten minutes away, safe neighborhood. And for a local tips: Try the little orange/white taco place across the street. Wonderful tacos! For local attractions: We booked a tour to the pyramids through the concierge. Not happy about that, see comment under local attractions on travlers tips.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Bus tour (through the concierge), 7 hours to the Guadeloupe and Pyramids, just give you 1,5 hour at the pyramids, but plenty of time at an artfactory and shop which we had not asked about nor wanted. Expensive items and probably a part of it goes to the tour company, which provided them with lots of visits! Same for lunch, More than enough time but just ONE restaurant to choose from, not very good and overpriced. We wanted to spend our time at the pyramids but was given very limited time there.

Wonderful hotel&service

The hotel is new, has a pool&whirlpool, and the service quality is very high. Although we were there for pleasure, it’s conveniently located for business travelers.

nice place to stay in reforma area

Pros: Omelet for breakfast, complementary cocktail, nice pool and gym. Great rooms with plasma TV. Cons: USD $11 per day if you want to use internet. Argentinian restaurant pricey and don’t expect a nice piece of steak (3 to 4*) Vips it’s a better option to eat.

Very Nice Hotel

We really enjoyed our stay at the Embassy Suites. We were in Mexico City for a wedding that was on the out-skirts of the city. The hotel arranged for a driver to take us there and pick us up (at 5:30 in the morning, it was really nice wedding!!). The breakfast buffet were excellent. All the hotel staff were helpful and friendly. I will be returning this ES on my next trip to Mexico City.

Traveler's tip

Use the local hotels to get taxis. Do not use street taxi. They can be dangerous (kidnapping, etc.).

New Hotel, lacking in certain amenities

Nice new hotel. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable and the rates were reasonable. There are a few issues with the hotel though: - Fitness Center The fitness center was a small room with 2 treadmills and a few other equipment including pulley weights and free weights. It was very small and lacked any appropriate ventilation and air conditioning. It was difficult to exercise in this room. There was a pool as well so that is bonus, but I did not use it. There was no on site massage service though. - Plumbing in the large shower/tub was additionally very slow. Some rooms did not have windows in the bedroom either. I stayed with 2 other colleagues and I was the only one with a window in my bedroom. - Attached restaurant (Evita) with a good selection of food (steaks, fish mainly) and bar. There is an additional bar in the lobby. Also has an attached Starbucks - Breakfast is served in the lobby and was hot prepared food. It is supposed to be complimentary, but my invoice currently shows otherwise... - Staff were very curteous and helpful

Great Hotel with very friendly Staff

I spent two nights in Mexico City. I chose ES because I had read the reviews on Expedia. The hotel is in great condition. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The Touribus is really the best way to see the city and it is right across the street from the hotel. I had no concern regarding my security staying at this hotel. If you are in to museums this could be the hotel for you. If you are in to partying and going out you could choose another hotel closer to your preferences. The hotel taxi is a little bit pricier then the regular cabs but I think it is worth it. Have fun!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Take the Touribus to see the city.

Embassy Suites in Mexico City - Excellent!

Myy wife and I spent several days at the Embassy Suites in Mexico City. Having traveled many countries and stayed in numerous hotels I can say that overall this was among the top 5 in terms of value. The combination of location, accomodations and service (top notch) was excellent. Would highly reccomend as a base for business or leisure.

A jewel in Mexico City

Embassy Suites was such a wonderful choice, one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at, and worth every penny. All the staff is very friendly and waited on us hand and foot during the included elaborate breakfast buffet and during open bar hours, and the front desk and bell staff were also excellent. The location is perfect, very close to histroic zone, zona rosa, safe to walk along Reforma boulevard. There are many banks nearby, easy to catch transportation, and the trolley bus. The rooms were large, clean, and beds are very comfy, bathrooms are luxurious and maintained spotlessly. Definitely a great place to stay and to return to.

The pyramids were one of the nicest activity. Didn’t plan to go there in the first place, but was glad I did!

Delighted with our stay

I am a great believer in Embassy suites, and chose this hotel for a 5 day vacation for our family consisting of 4 adults. The service was excellent from the moment we arrived; the staff and especially the consierge were very helpful. The facilities were first class as promised- we got to use the pool, the Jacuzi, the wireless internet and even midnight room service. I completely agree with a review I read from another traveller that this is the best Embassy suites I have been to.

Best hotel in Mexico City!

My son and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and we couldn’t be happier with our experience! Everyone at the hotel were very friendly and we had excellent service. The bed and pillow were very comfortable - just like home. Large bathroom, lovely pool and workout room. This hotel is only 1 year old so everything was up to date. If ever we get a chance to return to this fabulous city, I will stay here!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

This hotel is across the street fro the sightseeing tour bus. This bus takes you all around the city for only $10 and it runs from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. You can get on and off all day. Forget the cabs- this is they way to see Mexico City!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Enjoy the indoor pool and gym. It closes late at night and the environment is great.

The place to stay

Centrally located, clean, efficient, friendly and all the the other buzz words you want to hear. It’s true and you don’t feel like you are going broke with the rates. We always looked forward to the excellent (included) breakfast and cocktail hour downstairs. The only thing lacking was access to fresh air other than going down to the lobby to test the weather. I talked to people there that said, even though their company would pay for a more expensive hotel that they return there.

Traveler's tip

When exchanging money at the hotel (their rates are competitive) make sure your bills are in good condition. They refused my $100 due to a teeny tiny tear, saying the banks would reject it. Around the corner the bank didn’t seem to care though.
