some drawbacks,
I have to admit I was expecting more "wow factor" from the W. The lobby is hip and well decorated.. However, the room felt cheap and dingy. The windows’ paint was chipping off, there were dents in most of the furnishings. It seemed like they wanted an upscale look, and thought they could get it with inexpensive decor and paint. Well, it showed. The bathroom was tiny. Not sure if it was just our location in the hotel, but it sounded like a shower was running in the room next door... at first, it was just for a while when we checked in. But then for the next three days, the water ran the entire time. It was very annoying. Also, the walls are quite thin, we could hear a baby crying next door, as if our door was wide open. Positives:: The "Acura experience" (which is a free ride w/in five miles of W) was probably the nicest perk of the hotel, or any we’ve stayed at in Chicago! The drivers were friendly and knowledgeable, unlike many cabdrivers. The location is great. A short, brisk walk to Michigan Ave. Loved that they replenish your bath each day with BLISS products! In the micro-boutique downstairs, the same sets are $25 :) Overall, a decent stay for the price... just know that booking on expedia, you get the lowest, standard room available. Unlike other hotels, where they upgrade upon availability -for free, the W charges you to upgrade.

W awesome concierge
The Hotel is located in a perfect location, step away from the restaurants and good shopping. The concierge service is amazing and will direct you to the perfect spots

Will DEFINITELY return
This was our first experience at a W Hotel and it was all we expected. Great location, room a tad small, but absolutely no complaints. Beds are marvelous as well as the amenities in room. THE ONLY thing that baffled us was that housekeeping never cleaned up our room on the 2nd day! Not sure why, but really not a big deal for us. Front desk staff was very efficient and gracious about extending a late check on Sunday. Called room service at 3:30 am, food was brought up in exactly 30 minutes and was great! Nothing like truffle fries and a club sandwich when you have a ravenous appetite. Will certainly return.
