Unique
A really fun, funky motel in the heart of SF. The nicest front desk staff I have ever met. Within walking distance to public transportation and downtown. The neighborhood may make some people uncomfortable (if homeless people make you uncomfortable) but we never felt threatened. Im looking forward to my next visit.

Kitchy and fun!
Loved this place! Decor and rooms were great. Extremely friendly staff! Neighborhood was a little sketchy, but the price was right and never felt unsafe.

A fine hotel if you dont mind a little bit of walking
I stayed here for 5 days for a conference in the city in Oct 2009. The hotel is a bit off the beaten track, but its a little oasis in a poor neighborhood. It is safe and the staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is by the pool and when the weather is nice, its great. Good quality coffee and pastries and fruit. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and smelled fresh. The bed was comfortable and clean. In order to get to the more pleasant parts of town, you have to walk through some really poor neighborhoods. The hotel is surrounded by some nice ethnic restaurants - mostly Chinese and Vietnamese as the hotel is in the Little Saigon neighborhood. As for the noise, I can see it can be noisy because of the windows to the courtyard area, but in my case it was really very quiet because it was chilly outside and nobody partied outside.
