Luxembourg Parc "gets" what it means to be in the hospitality industry
While I normally go for more "design"-focused hotels (my personal interior design/architecture esthetic leans to the hyper-modern), I decided on the Luxembourg Parc for a change of pace. Now I’m glad I did. The design here, while classically French, isn’t over-the-top frou-frou, and mercifully not "quaint." Just very, very attractive in its chosen idiom. The only quibble I have is that the soundproofing of the windows isn’t quite as effective as I’ve experienced elsewhere; it’s still decent, but not quite perfect. Really, a very, very minor criticism. The best part about the place, however, is the staff: in terms of attitude, they’re among the most guest-centric I’ve encountered anywhere. Every interaction I had with them suggested that my comfort came first, not what mght be easist or most convenient for them. And another thing: at other Paris hotels of late I’ve been bedeviled by taxis booked the night before not showing up to take me to the airport (an extra bit of stress I don’t need); however, the Luxembourg Parc had no trouble at all ensuring that my taxi arrived on time and was waiting for me when I checked out. Bravo to all at the Luxembourg Parc!
