Don’t Miss Out on This Rare Tropical Paradise!

My wife and I were on vacation from Pennsylvania in late October 2009. It was unseasonably hot and we had just arrived in Clearwater Beach after 2 exhausting days in Orlando. From the moment we arrived at the Sandpearl, we were whisked away to an island paradise. The valet parking and staff took care of all of our needs and we were brought into a VIP area where we comfortably sat and checked into the hotel. We were offered cool towels and glasses of champagne immediately upon being seated. Our room was upgraded to a gulf view with a balcony. The room was beatifully appointed and the balcony and gulf view were much better than other reviewers had suggested. We headed immediately down to the spa and had his and her spa treatments. The staff brought us a great platter of sushi, flatbread pizza, beer & wine. Mind you, all of this costs money, but I highly suggest you check out the spa. We then headed down to the beach to watch the sunset with Mojitios at the hotel’s gulf front bar. With camfires going, this is next closest thing you’ll get to a California or Hawaii sunset beach scene. We took a drive down the coast and enjoyed St. Petersburg. The neighborhood of Mandaly immediately around the resort was clean and lively and featured all sorts of shops and alternate places to eat. There was a great diner for a cheap breakfast and we went a block away to see a band playing at a small bar on halloween night. We can’t wait to go back!

Save on breakfast and eat at the diner on the main strip down the street from the hotel.

Awesome place to stay...I can’t wait to stay again!

This was probably one off the nicest places I have ever stayed. Great rooms, food, truly a 5 star resort.

Impressive for Florida

Truly a great hotel for a 4 star establishement. I have stayed in Ritz that was not as impressive as this place. Everybody is trying very hard to make you feel comfortable and welcome. The little restaurant next door has surprisingly very good food, from breakfast to dinner, large and diverse menu, great taste.

Nice but, don’t bother to upgrade to gulf/beach front

Everything looked beautiful. Will not spend the extra money to upgrade to gulf front again. Too little time spent in room and too far away from beach to really enjoy it anyway. Our view was blocked by palm tree in front of building. Room beautiful but not properly cleaned. There was hair in the shower from the previous guest still. Pillows are too fat and too firm to allow a good night’s rest. Black out curtains were great though. You can rent chairs and umbrellas from the hotel but you can’t get anywhere near the waterline. Another company rents them as well closer to the water but still not near it. This part of the beach is cleaned/combed every morning. The beach side cafe they have there (Tate’s) is outrageously expensive--$3 for fountain soda, $15 for grouper sandwich, $12 for burger. They come with fries or chips. Concierge not helpful with local restaurants. Also he was sarcastic to my 12 year old son when my son didn’t want to look at the menu for a nearby eatery.

Beautiful hotel with best beach space

The hotel is really a little jewel away from the hustle and bustle of the locals. The rooms are beautiful and have great views of the ocean. The staff are very friendly and have great customer service skills. The only disappointment this year was the food. The food has always been phenomenal...this time it was almost inedible in the beachside bar and room service. The menu was the same...the chef obviously not. But the restaurants offsite on both sides of the hotel have decent food....so sleep at Sand Pearl...eat offsite.

Beautiful Hotel and Location

We were surprised by the property - it is absolutely beautiful in every way. They paid attention to every little detail and it really enforces the overall feeling of elegance. When we arrived we were offered water, champagne and cooling towels while we waited..the check-in was handled at a sit-down desk vs. a front desk area and then you are offered a property tour. We had a one bedroom suite with a bay view on the 7th floor which was gorgeous - the full kitchen and washer/dryer is great for the stay (plus they leave dishwasher tabs, laundry detergent and dryer sheets for you). The beach is incredible - white sand which is cool no matter how hot it is...still, clear waters with dolphins swimming by at any time...go ahead and get the umbrella and chairs from the hotel. They set everything up for you and give you a flag so that you can have servers come out for drinks and food. A little closer to the water you can rent umbrellas and chairs from a private company for the same price - but no drinks or food. The entire staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Truly a class act.

Traveler's tip on dining

A very short walk away is Frenchy’s and Clear Sky Cafe...both were great but we found the food at Clear Sky to be the best (and great prices). Go early (or later) to both...they are packed with locals and tourists alike...

Great hotel!

From the moment we checked in and were greeted with complimentary champagne to the moment we checked out and had our bags loaded into the car, we were treated like royalty. We will definitely make the SandPearl Resort a part of our future getaways!

Best Property in Clearwater

we stayed the weekend at the sandpearl for a quick beach getaway. on the way to the hotel the cab driver told us we were staying at the premier resort in the area. from the time we checked in, every level of service was great! the reservationists, concierge, doormen, and pool attendants were perfect! they were very friendly, and eager to please! everyone was very professional, nice, and you didn’t have to lift a finger. the facilities were awesome! high-end, luxury, the bathrooms had tons of marble and granite, flatscreen tv’s, and room amenities were top notch! put it like this, the limo driver on the way back to the airport (when we were leaving) said that the sandpearl is the "cadillac on the beach".

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

-if you want inexpensive, good food, eat at the cafe right across from the hotel. -if you want to party and dance, try sheppards which has 2 clubs and a tiki bar at one location -ride the trolley around for about an hour to see other parts of clearwater

Very happy with the hotel and staff.

Hotel staff was very accomadating. We checked out at 6:00 a.m. to catch our flight. When reaching the airport, we were told that our flight was cancelled and we would not be able to fly out until the next day. I called the hotel to see if we could get our room back. The staff allowed us to re-check back in and stay until 4:00 p.m. that afternoon. We’re very thankful!

Beautiful!

This resort is absolutely beautiful! We loved it, and will definitely be back next year! The resort is super family friendly - we were traveling with our two children, ages 8 and 6, and there was plenty for them to do. They loved the pool (especially the frozen grapes and cool face towels that the pool attendants bring around to all the guests). We stayed in a two bedroom suite with a full kitchen, two full bathrooms, even a washer and dryer - plenty of room for all of us. The weather in late April is just gorgeous, so we played at the beach and pool everyday. Very relaxing for the whole family - loved it!!!!

Great hotel

The hotel amenities and service were fabulous. Beach was beautiful, but town of Clearwater Beach was lacking a little as far as shops, restaurants, etc.

Beautiful Getaway

This hotel was very beautiful. It made us feel very comfortable, relaxed, and we were just able to have a great time without any worries. It’s a great location, and a great deal. Well worth the price, we were very satisfied. We were upset when it was time to leave.

Clearwater Beach - great hotel

I have stayed in Clearwater Beach a couple of times over the past few summers. This was the best hotel I have stayed at. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The best thing was the beach is not far off the hotel, just a short walk. I will go back to this hotel the next time I am in Clearwater Beach.

A nice place to stay

I’ve been here 2 other times and really like it. This is the first time we’ve actually stayed in a room rented from the hotel. Usually we stay in a private suite rented from an individual. The room was okay but I was a bit turned off by the stains on the carpet and on the bench at the end of the bed. The property is beautiful and the employees are very nice.

Traveler's tip on dining

The Sushi bar across the street is a must, I’ve been eating there for many years and its always good. In the same mall is an ice cream shop, avoid it. It’s dirty, expensive and the not very friendly.

Top Notch

A high end, classy resort with amazing customer service. Beautiful and expensive. A wonderful place for a romantic getaway, but not a whole lot for children to do. Surrounding areas are geared for nightlife, no boardwalk.....

Not a ton for children to do, other than the resorts activities on the beach. Nighlife in the surrounding area is geared towards adults. (bars, cafes, bistros)

The Good: amazing beach, nice pool area, roomy suites; The Bad: very expensive

The sugar sand beach was amazing, but I didn’t feel that the hotel should charge for beach umbrellas when it was already assessing a daily "resort" fee on top of their top-tier room rates. We had a wonderful breakfast at the restaurant, decent lunches at the waterside grill, and top-notch service from the housekeeping staff. They are inflexible about check-out times, even for the top floor suites like the one we stayed in, which inconvenienced us. We had a "bay-view"; however, it was more of a street view, with the bay in the far distance. There was a lot of street noise. The room was very large, and the whirlpool tub was one of the best hotel tubs I have experienced. Large kitchen area with quality appliances, well-maintained. Front desk was responsive, except for check-out. Spa was pricey, so we didn’t indulge.

Traveler's tip on dining

Eat at the Frenchy’s a little bit north of the SandPearl. It was fun, reasonably priced and a great location. Food was decent, too! Bar Drinks were hearty and not watered down. Go early (before 5:30pm) to avoid a long wait.

Superb Service Beautiful Accommodations

The hotel was clean and elegant and the service was extraordinary. One of the best if not THE BEST hotel in the area. The price is worth it. Traveled with my husband, two children, and mother and there was something for everyone.

Traveler's tip on dining

Try Fortinis. Within walking distance of the hotel. Excellent Italian food and fabulous service.

Beautiful property/a tad pretentious

Very nice place. Clearly "best on the beach" for Clearwater Beach. Very comfortable rooms, lovely pool area, right on the beach. Not a 5-star property but certainly a good 4.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Booked car and hotel as a package on Expedia and saved about $400 over booking hotel directly and car separately. I couldn’t believe the package price as I was about to book the hotel directly but car rental rates were very high. Basically car was free.
