Everything was Fantastic

The Embassy suites was fantastic, Everything was clean and well kept. The pool and poolside bar very convienent and well kept. The house-keeping staff was very friendly, as were the front desk people. The valet service (mandatory) was inexpensive and quick. The only complaint was not even related to the hotel but to the location, Next door was a large construction project that congested traffic and was noisy duing the day, but it was not a problem at night. Cooked to order complimentry breakfast is a must, it was fantastic! Would deffinitly use again.

Location

First I have to say the service was excellent. The only problem I had is the room wasn’t as good as Embassy Suites I’m use to staying in.The rooms were smaller than most i’ve stayed in and a little out dated. If your going for the beach location this is not the place. The location is not fifty yards from the beach. It’s across the street and between buildings to get to the beach. The view is limited due to buildings all around the property. The free drinks between 5:30-7:30 and free breakfest is nice. Tons of Shopping within a very short walk.

Traveler's tip

If you want shopping this place is the one. If you want the beach you need to look for something else. Traffic Stinks in Oahu. Don’t rent a car it’s not worth it.

You would be crazy not to stay at this hotel!!!

1500 characters wouldn’t even been close to enough to explain how GREAT this hotel this was. First off the breakfast was amazing. Cooked to order eggs and the buffet was always full. Second the Managers Reception was outstanding. Come on free drinks for 2 hours a night??? Can you go wrong? We had a room next to the elevator and we asked to switch rooms and they took care of it on the spot and a hour later we where in our new room. When you arrive you get greeted with a glass of Mimosa and a cd of local music. The room was always clean and tidy. The construction on the Trump Tower was nothing, We never heard a noise and we where right across from it. It is very close to everything. The staff was the best. Always smiling and even thought we where there just a week they remembered our names after 2 days. They always where giving us tips and insights into things to do that made our stay even better. As a traveler to hawaii on several times this is by far the best hotel i have ever stayed at.

Go to the happy hour at the pizza place across the street fot 5 dollar pizzas. Also be sure to rent a car. It is nice to be able to do things on your own time.

Beautiful and an impressive full breakfast

Our room was on the 18th floor with a full ocean view. It was beautiful. My son would wake up between 4:30 and 5am and look out the balcony to see the whales in the ocean. The staff and the hotel was wonderful.

Great Location, Room, and Breakfast

The hotel was just as advertised. Check in was a pleasure with the comfortable chairs and fruit drinks. While my wife and I were checking in, another staff member brought out the drinks to my daughters sitting in the waiting area. It was a nice treat after a long flight. The breakfast buffet was great. You fill up a bowl with your omelette choices and hand it to the chef! Fresh fruit, meats, bakery, and fresh grilled fish each morning we were there. The rooms were large, and the two balconies were great. Our standard view room overlooked the Beach Walk, but also offered views of Diamond Head and part of the Pacific Ocean. The pool area was nice, and located next to the Manager’s reception area. We were able to enjoy the complimentary drinks while sitting by the pool watching our girls swimming. We will definitely stay at this hotel again our next time in Waikiki Short walk to the beach and all of the shops and restuarants nearby.

Traveler's tip on dining

The Shorebird restaurant next door offers grill your own steaks overlooking Waikiki Beach! Great salad bar too!

Great Hotel

We absolutely loved the hotel. The rooms and public areas were spotlessly clean and all the employees were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was fabulous with a great selection. Only concerns/comments I would have is: the pool is not as big as it looks in picture and there is no deep end, therefore no chance for adults to get any swimming in as it’s full of kids; elevator operates on your room key card which doesn’t always read the card properly. Often it would take 3 or 4 swipes before it would read it and the elevator would be going up or down while we are trying to put in the floor we want. Also be warned at breakfast if you eat outside, have some one stay with your food while you get your drinks. There are a lot of hungry birds there who like to help themselves.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Personally, I would not go to the beach opposite the hotel as it is very rocky in the water, there are many other nicer beaches to go to. Also don’t miss the Polynesian Cultural Center. Great shows, make sure you spend the entire day there so you don’t miss anything.

Would stay there again in a minute!!!!!

I have family in Honolulu so I’ve been there many times. First time at the Embassy Suites in Honolulu and it was great. The staff was extremely nice and very accomodating. My only complaint was the cost to park a car. $25 a day is pretty high, I think if you are a guest, it should be discounted or free. The breakfast was great too, plenty of food. Can’t wait to return.

Can’t sleep in

Only downfall is construction going on across the street (West side). They start work at 7am.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Ask for a room on the east side of the tower (both towers are affected by the construction.)

Nice, new and clean hotel, good location

Pleasantly surprised at how nice this hotel was. It wasn’t glitzy like Caesar’s Palace in Vegas, but it was new, clean and the staff was friendly (all the time). It was located in a newer/nicer part of Waikiki, away from the Spring Break riff-raff and away from the loud crowds. The complimentary breakfast was a great start to every morning, which saved us a chunk of money and got us fueled up every morning. The happy hour with daily Hawaiian entertainment was a nice touch to every evening as well. Would definitely stay here again.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

1. Take advantage of the coupon book the hotel gives you when you check-in. It’s full of useful coupons to use a nearby restaurants and retail stores. 2. Try out some of the free cultural activities the hotel offers in the Waikiki Beach Walk shopping area.

Great Waikiki Beach Location

Embassy Suites was our choice for a pre-cruise night in Honolulu. We were surprised to be upgraded (especially since it was just a one night stay) to a corner room that had great views of the ocean from both lanais. We were celebrating our 35th anniversary by cruising NCL around the islands. We would have loved to stay at Embassy Suites longer if we hadn’t had a date with a cruise ship. Check-in was easy after a long flight. The desk personnel were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the bathroom had plenty of space. We enjoyed dinner at the Yardhouse, which is adjacent to the property. A short walk across the street leads to a lovely park, the beach, and a pier that has a view spanning Waikiki beach and Diamond Head.

Free Breakfast and Drinks are nice - but only if you love the noise of Waikiki

Plus: Hotel was nice. Two bedroom suite is great for families of 5 or more. Minus: Valet parking only - and it’s expensive! The valets were very quick, but of course you can’t call down to speed up the process. And you’ve got to tip each time. Another minus was that as of Feb 2009 the building just across the street is under LOUD construction. Be prepared for waking up to that noise around 7:30 daily Lastly - they are not very accommodating of early check-in requests. Came in on a red-eye from Japan booked in a package (so they knew when I would arrive), yet they told me my room would not be available until 3pm. The person in the room next door later told me that the the maid was done before noon.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

If you are dying for Waikiki, then this place is fine given what I’ve said above. Next time though, we’ll stay farther out of town.

Romantic Holiday

We had a wonderful time celebrating our 35th Wedding Anniversary. Hawaii was everything that we expected and our stay at the Embassy Suites helped to make very special.

Traveler's tip on dining

The Paradise Cove Luau was great. There is no need to pay the more expensive price. The price recommended in the Expedia package was great.

Great Hotel, Great Service, Good Location

We spent 3 nights here during the busy holiday season and thought it was a great hotel - clean, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and great service. The breakfast and nightly manager’s reception were both very good. We loved having a separate living room and bedroom to spread out in - definitely more space than your average hotel room. Overall, a great choice.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Hanauma Bay is a must for snorkelers. Take a surf lesson - very fun. We had Christmas dinner at the Top of Waikiki revolving restaurant - great views and delicious food a short walk from the hotel. Highly recommend the Wild Side dolphin encounter - snorkeling in the ocean with wild spinner dolphins is an amazing experience.

Great central location

The hotel was in a convenient location for taking advantage of the Honolulu shopping, dining and beach experience. The breakfast and Manager’s reception were wonderful. The BEST thing about this hotel was the concierge service that wondered the breakfast area and helped us plan two great days of our vacation. New Trump Tower construction was noisy and building will block any view.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

The ATV trip at Koaula Ranch was great. Take the longer trip!

Loved Hawaii

I was disappointed to learn that I could not park my own car at the hotel and that it cost $25 per night for valet parking but we ate breakfast at the hotel everday so I figure I saved money there. I just wish I had known when I budgeted for meals. We all loved our stay there, especially the entertainment, the location and happy hour.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

I hope Every guest takes advantage of the free breakfast and nightly entertainment provided by the Embassy Suites. We looked forward to it each day.

Embassy Suites - great location in Waikiki

Everything about it was great. free breakfast which saved us plenty of $$ and free drinks and entertainment in the early evenings daily at the pool area and speaking of the pool; great for kids (1 1/2ft depth) and adults (hot tub).

Traveler's tip on dining

It located right next to the rebirth of Waikiki full of new shops and restaurants. gotta to eat at the yard house.

Wonderful place to stay

Excellent place to stay. The complimentary breakfast each morning was awesome and the Manager’s Reception every evening included live entertainment, free cocktails, soft drinks, chips, dip, veggies and nuts. No need to take beach towels because you can pick up a bundle at the pool courtesy of the hotel. Hotel employees friendly and helpful.

Rent a car: 1. Be sure to go to Hanauma Bay and Kailua Park on east coast. 2. Go to North Shore for day and swim with the turtles and see sunset beach. 3. The Paradise Cove Luau was in a beautiful setting on the west coast. Pricey, food ok but show and atmosphere worth the $. 4. Go to International Marketplace to buy your souveniers...it’s within walking distance from hotel. Our entire family enjoyed our stay in Oahu. Lord willing, we will return to see the other Hawaiian islands someday.

Great family hotel.

We loved this hotel! It is perfect for a family vacation. Front desk, bell desk provided very friendly, helpful service. The gentleman at the concierge desk was absolutely the best! I have stayed at 5 star hotels in Hawaii and he surpassed all the services we received there. I needed my hair done for a special occasion, he referred me somewhere and even scheduled the appt. for me. When I was beautified he even made sure everything was to my standards. The only thing we were extremely displeased about was the valet service! You would have 3 valet guys there and they never acknowledged us or assisted us at all. It didn’t happen once... or twice... literally the whole time we were there! You pay $25.00 a day for hotel parking and there valet service was below average service! We loved the daily complimentary breakfast buffet ( great selection of food ) and the nightly lounge drinks and appetizers they provided. We would go back, but next time we will not tip the valet guys ( Yes, we still tipped them for non-existent services ).

Great stay

My family and I stayed for 2 days in June. Service was great. Breakfast was outstanding. The cocktail hour was good but the Mai Tais were very strong. Would stay again.

Dukes for dinner. Choose burger and pizza menu and you get a reduced rate for a great fish dinner.

Great hotel and location

our stay was just as advertised and the location was perfect. we thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and its amenities, the daily complimentary breakfast was great. should we come again and we will I don’t know if we would stay at the same hotel. this was our 25th wedding anniversary and we were told that we may get an upgraded room and a complimentary fruit basket for which we seen neither. this was disappointing to say the least you would have thought that a milestone of this type would have been honored by a hotel of this caliber.

Traveler's tip

we timed it perfectly unbeknownst to us, the pan-pacific festival ran from june 5-7th, this was the week of our trip. this was a tremendous event, next year will be better yet they will be celebrating their 30th year.
