Peaceful, private, relaxing

Jade Mountain’s proprietor has a particular sort of vacation in mind for his guests. If that sort of vacation is what you’re after, you’ll enjoy staying here far more than at a more generic luxury resort. What Jade Mountain offers is peace, quiet, and privacy, all in a stunning natural setting. This is NOT a place to go to meet other people -- you’ll likely spend a good deal of time in your (amazing) suite. There’s no need to leave it to go swimming (you have your own pool) or to enjoy the views (they’re stunning from the suite). The Jade Mountain club offers amazing food, but it, too, is quiet and understated. The property is beautiful and extensive. A great spot for hikers and bird-watchers. On the other hand, if you’re looking for a place that’s chock-a-block with activities or designed to meet new people, this is not the place for you. The service is friendly and attentive. The staff-to-guest ratio is almost silly. This has its pluses and minuses. One problem is that the activities that are available aren’t easy to pursue on one’s own. Unguided hikes aren’t so easy to arrange, you can’t take out a sea kayak without going through a training program, hikes of the Pitons need to be arranged well in advance. If you want to take advantage of these opportunities, try to plan it out before or upon arrival, especially if you’re staying for only a short time.
