Great location and price!

You cannot beat the price in this location. We have stayed before. Yes, the bathroom is tiny, the service not what it should be and some minor things like weather stripping needed under the door. But the for the price you are 1/2 block from the plaza and surrounding restaurants, galleries, museums and shops. We had a two room suite. The sitting room had a wood burning fireplace - great for the cold weather. Parking, while additional, is covered. Unfortunately they layed off the bell hops after the holidays which left the front desk person to bring wood and light the fireplace. One night he just didn’t make it (a busy Saturday night). He was very pleasant, just overworked. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. We would stay again.

"Outstanding Customer Service!"

The location, ambiance and customer service makes me want to return every weekend. The lobby fireplace and margaritas were wonderful. We were imppressed with the room and it was quiet for sleeping in. We felt so well taken care of by Eric, who greeted us warmly and was there to attend to our every need. He built a fire in our room that was worthy of an Eagle Scout! We returned to work on Monday very rested and relaxed after our getaway to Santa Fe. Thank you so much! Mary and Bill

Good value, great location

Hotel Real was a mixed bag, though mostly good. I booked it mainly because of an incredibly low price available through Expedia, as well as its location steps from Santa Fe’s main square. It was a junior suite, with a wood-burning fireplace and comfortable king bed. The housekeeping was not great; the cleaners did not replace the plastic cups, left some of the trash, and every night we had to ask for more firewood. They delivered, but the hotel short-staffed so it sometimes took a while and ended up being delivered by the desk clerk. Some of the desk people were inexperienced (maybe because previous travelers reported their indifference and were replaced), and the check-in clerk messed up my internet access (which was fixed by another clerk). The $14 per night parking fee was exorbitant, especially since the hotel we stayed in in downtown Albuquerque cost $10. All in all, it was an excellent value for the location -- no doubt the price was affected because the first week of January, so we were told by the locals, is the deadest week in Santa Fe in the entire year.
