Hotel domina

My package deal included breakfast, which was very good and I don’t mean coffee and a cookie. The staff was very helpful and most of them spoke English. Hotel was about a 20-25 min. Ride to the center of Rome.I will stay there again!

Hotel Domina Rome

A great hotel located in a nice quiet neighborhood. A good alternative to being in the central part of the city where the trade off if distance to historic attractions. With this choice you get better value, bigger and more modern room and facilities.

Dont consider unless you like early nights, expensive food, and bad service

We chose this hotel since reviews were positive they were wrong. We tried to book a private car to pick us up from FCO, when we arrived we waited for over 30min for a car that didn’t show up and then took a taxi. When we arrived the front desk clerk was very rude since we didn’t wait for the car that was very late, refused our early check-in. Our room was large, had a safe which we needed since we had them unlock the balcony door (keys only at front desk) it didn’t have a latch at all. Another downside to the balcony was the rain that poured in the room. It was clear it wasn’t the first time that it happened from the mildew smell that filled the room the next day. The maid service didn’t seem to notice or just didn’t care and i used all our towels to dry the carpet. The bed was very very hard and we slept on top of the comforter for a little extra padding. Breakfast was good but very limited and it was the same each day. If you are on Marco Polo 2 check all the serving dishes we found sausage only atop the stairs. Some restaurants around one had great pizza but their other food didn’t impress to much, never tried the cuban place. The shuttle service ends too early and leaves at the time listed exactly so don’t be late. If you do miss it take the bus back taxis only pick up from designated spots. When we return we will stay much closer to the city center.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

We went to grocery stores and bought deli meats, breads, fruit, pastries, wine, and cheeses. It was a great way to keep dinner low cost and quite tasty! Tremini station had rotisserie chickens and a large grocery store. Also there are lots of lunch specials in the tourist areas...stay away most are just microwaved and just not worth the trouble. We will also pay the extra money for first class tickets.
