Beautiful place, but don’t eat in the restaurants!

Frenchman’s Reef is beautiful, and it’s a very convenient location. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially the housekeeper that we had. The views from the hotel were gorgeous. The elevator which takes you down to the beach was frequently out of service during our stay. The major disappointment was the hotel’s restaurants. When we stayed there last year, the food at Windows on the Harbor was available from a menu and was fantastic. Now they have changed to a buffet format only. The prices are outrageous, and the food is just standard. Prices at the other restaurants are also ridiculous. The next time we go, will probably stay at this hotel, but we will rent a car so we can eat elsewhere on the island. We were also annoyed that we were constantly bombarded by offers to listen to a sales pitch to buy a timeshare at the property next door which is also owned by Marriott.

love to go back

we had a wonderful time - just not enough time. There is a lot to do and we werent there long enough to do it all. i wish the bars opened earlier that 11am - especially the bar by the pool. You get up early on vacation and it would have been nice to have a bloody mary in the moring.

Total Disappointment

We would certainly NOT recommend this hotel. Our room was relatively clean but the majority of the resort IS NOT! Both my husband and I understand that you may have to accept slower service, poor food & expensive pricing while on vacation, but it’s certainly NOT acceptable to stay in filthy conditions. The Marriott needs to seriously spend some time renovating this hotel. When we checked in we were immediatly offered another room (before we had even seen our room). The woman at the front desk even offered to hold our bags while we went to "look" at it. We were of course confused & concerned but
