Bring your own fan

The Chicago Essex is conveniently located for people that want to see Chicago’s great museums. The hotel, probably built in the 60s, has been nicely renovated, yielding small but pleasant room. The problem with the Essex is that the hotel still has only one heating/cooling system for the entire building. At night, our room was uncomfortably warm, and the windows do not open. If you are claustrophobic at all, you might want to consider another hotel where you can at least regulate the temperature in your room. Or you may be sleeping in a very hot box.

Good Hotel, no breakfast

The hotel was really nice and clean. The location was really nice and not very far from the shops. The only thing that we didn’t like is that for the price we paid we expected breakfast to be included.
