What a Great Hotel, can’t say enough good things

Absolutely the best place to stay. You are treated like royalty from the moment you arrive until you leave. The rooms are exactly as advertised in the pictures. The food is among the very best we have ever eaten, five star quality. The staff have no comparison anywhere in the world. They are at your service 24/7. When they say "it’s my pleasure" they really mean it. The all inclusive, adults only is without a doubt the way to go. Eat breakfast at Spice, then do lunch & dinner at Pelicano’s. The other restaurants are nice, but nothing beats being able to eat in an open air environment with the pools on one side & the ocean on the other. Every dish we had there was excellent. The lobby bar area is a great place to hang out and meet people. When the sun stops shining on the pool, go to your room and nap. Get up, shower, then eat a later dinner. Make sure you catch the shows that start each evening at 9:45. They are very good. Rest, relax & enjoy is what it’s all about. You will not want to leave!

When you get through customs at the airport, don’t allow yourself to be stopped by the folks trying to talk you into tours and timeshares. Continue to walk until you get outside and there you will find your transportation to the hotel. Spend the extra few bucks and book the private transportation thru Expedia. It’s a 15 minute van ride to the hotel. Use the Best Day folks, they are wonderful. At the hotel, you can get all the same tour info with much less hassle. Unless you are really interested in time shares, decline the opportunity to participate in that at the hotel. Once you say no, they will not bother you again. Pack everything in 1 suitcase and check it. You will not need a lot of clothes. Put your valuables and smaller items in a backpack and carry it on the plane. Put your passport, id’s, and boarding passes in a plastic bag and keep it in your carry on. It will make it easy to get to when you are asked to show it.

The Royal is the BEST period.....

This place is beyond your expectations..... I had a great time once again.... Check out the spa... You can use it any time you want... its well worth it.. Also take advantage of the room service any time you want.... This is my fourth time at the Royal.... I’ve been to Cancun a bunch of times and this is my favorite hotel...... Hotel staff is excellent too, anything you want they will get for you.... Trust me you wont go wrong with this hotel.... What else can i say..... have fun....

The Perfect Vacation!

This was the BEST hotel I have ever stayed at! Everyone treated us like royalty! The pool and the beach were beautiful! The staff was amazing and catered to your every need. I really couldn’t say enough nice things about this place. I can’t wait to go back next year! Oh and noone hasseled us about time shares. This was a concern of mine since that was ALL I read about Cancun, but we were not asked once!

"Expect the exceptional"

Great hotel, the food was as good as you can ever imagine. Try the Asiana restaurant, is Asian cuisine of top quality. The courtesy, professioanlism and kindness of the employees at this hotel is above exceptional. The beachtler "Raphael" is a terrific employee. I’m already planning a second visit on september 2010. We stayed there from Octobre 18 - 24 2009 on our honeymoon and it was excellent in every way.

this was my third time at the royal cancun and it never ceases to please me. the hotel is clean, well maintain and has the best staff around. they make you feel like you are home. they call you by name, are friendly and are always there to help you. would never stay anywhere else while in cancun

More than we could have dreamed of

I booked the Royal with 8 of my family members to celebrate a 40th birthday and 10 yr anniversary. The anniversary couple (incl. birthday boy) travel all over the world for business and I was very nervous this hotel would not live up to their usual accommodations. I was so happy when they said this was the nicest place they had ever stayed. The pool was HUGE. You could be on the relaxing side or the activities side. The bartenders were fast and pleasant and always made time to chat and joke with you. The food was amazing. Maria Marie was our favorite. Chateaubriand, an awesome Caesar salad, unique presentation on a delicious creme brulee and after dinner drinks to complete the meal. We upgraded to the Il Morro wine, it was incredible. Great location across from a mini mall with amazing deals on crafts and souvenirs, we saw the same stuff at the airport for 5x the cost. We couldn’t believe it. The turn down service was so nice, the anniversary couple had choc covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne EVERY night left by the staff, they never asked for this, it was such a nice touch. The bed (king) was the most comfortable bed and we did not hear a peep from outside our room, it was pure relaxation and luxury at a more than fair price. I cannot say enough about this hotel, people who write bad reviews; i just don’t know what they were thinking, we were beyond sad to return home at the end of the trip and are already planning a week to return in the next 6 months.

We took the bus (under a $1 fare) to AquaWorld and did the snorkeling expedition, it was awesome. For $38 u could snorkel all day at the 2nd largest coral reef in the world, the boat ride to the reef was worth the price alone, it was so fun, a huge 2 tiered speedboat and hilarious staff pouring you beers and blasting great music the whole ride. I didn’t want to get off the boat! But the snorkeling was awesome, the guides were great, they spent over an hour with a first time snorkeler easing her fears and getting her into the water and accompanying her. We tipped the staff well, they were kind, fun and helpful and made us laugh. Well worth the money and a nice getaway from the hotel and Cancun. I highly recommend it.

by far one of the best vacations I have ever had. The hotel far exceeded all of my expectations. Food was great and the staff couldnt have been nicer or more helpful. Pool and beach were amazing and I loved having the balcony!

dont be afraid to ask for things not on the menu...they are more than happy to accomodate. Try the garlie shrimp at the Pelicanos restaurant...its not on the menu but our waiter Eme suggested it for us...one of the best things we had while we were there!

I can only say this is the best hotel I’ve ever been. the place is beatifull, the confort, the atention, the food, the corner suite was amazing...all of this is to say the least, I hada wonderfull time with nothing to complain whatsoever. I would definitily recoment the royal to anyone. the royal is worth every dollar expend.

once you there, make sure to visit the royal in playa del carmen, you would also be covered and the beach is incredible with a lot more to see. make sure to get a rental car so you could around...very importand, so much to do; or just take easy because you wont see everything on a week.

Amazing

This was one of the nicest resorts we have ever stayed in. The service of the staff was impeccable, extremely comfortable beds, luxurious bedding, every dining establishment had great service and even better food. Would definitely recommend and will absolutely return.

Expect the Exceptional!

That is their motto and they truly live up to it! Everything was breathtakingly beautiful. I can say with complete and total sincerity that I have never in all my life been treated so well by anyone as I was by the staff of the Royal. The only slightly negative thing occurred during check-in. We had booked a room with a king-sized bed. They told us that they only had a room with two double beds available. At first I was disappointed, but resigned myself to accept it. But then I said calmly and politely that we had booked our room six months in advance and our room was available at that time. We were there to celebrate our tenth anniversary, I told them, and we expected to have an amazing time while we were there. But I said that two double beds was unacceptable. That was all I said, and the man behind the desk said, "One moment please". He typed in some things on his computer, then upgraded us to a higher room category, just like that, and apologized for the misunderstanding. Everyone was wonderful to us, and we did not have any other problems during our entire stay. The room, the food, the service, the ambiance... everything was wonderful, and definitely set for romance! My husband and I have already agreed to go again next year!

Been here before-will go back! LOVE the Royal! Ivan by the pool was the best. The spa was incredible and the food was wonderful!

Top Notch All-Inclusive

My wife and I stayed at The Royal Cancun for 7 nights in October 2009. After researching the resort on various websites, we knew what to expect and it greatly exceeded our expectations. One thing to note is that the staff all seem very happy to assist you and happy at their jobs, which really made for a nice vacation. The food was excellent and I couldn’t compliment the service anymore. You can’t lose with choosing this hotel.

This wasn’t mentioned often on my research but guests at The Royal Cancun are able to visit the resort next door to use all their restaurants and bars, which adds to nightly dining choices. We ate at Maria’s (next door), which is a Mexican restaurant, and it was excellent.

Will be going back!!!!

The Royal in Cancun was everything we had hoped it would be. From the time we arrived until the time we left the staff was outstanding. None of our needs went unattended. We celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary in style. We would recommend this hotel to anyone. We will be going back.

Wonderful Hotel

We truly enjoyed our 9 day stay at The Royal. The hotel was immaculate, the service was spectacular and the amenities were abundant. The staff could not do enough for you and were always available when needed. The food was delicious and our advice is if you don’t see it on the menu or you want it done a special way...just ask! We never left the resort and utilized the gym, the spa, the pool, the 24 hour lounge and the magnificent ocean. We will be back for many years to come

Traveler's tip

We booked through Expedia and had no problems with the service. Our advice is to ignore all of the hawkers at the Cancun airport and walk right outside to the transportation service you booked. It’s an excercise in selling trips that you don’t need until you get to the hotel, if at all.

Great hotel from Cancun frequenter

We just got back from a 4 night stay here. It was great, great drinks, liquor bottles in the room! Maria Marie, not very good food. Asiana was the best! Wonderful sushi. The only thing that upset me was that when we got there they said all they had was rooms with 2 double beds unless we upgraded, which i think is their "trick" to make you pay more. We did upgrade and I didnt think about it the rest of the week, and the room was wonderful.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Go to Margaritaville across the street, they have a great fun show! Make sure you haggle with the stores at the mall, they will go WAY down on price.

I was impressed with the hotel and the staff. If you needed anything they were able and willing to help. Everyone was very friendly. Rooms, food, entertainment, staff were all exceptional. I would definitely recommend and go back.

One of Cancuns Finest

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon, it was amazing. I had a few concerns initialy due to my previous trip to Cancun, with it being a hotspot for high school senior trips. With it being an all suite adult hotel we didn’t have that problem. The place was amazing, great food, good drinks, and great rooms. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

can’t wait to go back

The hotel was beautiful and the service was great. But, beware when you check into the hotel they may say they do not have a king bed or whatever you reserved and will try to get you to pay for an upgrade. Don’t do it. When I was there it was only 60% full, so they had the room. Also, they will try to invite you to a special members appointment and try to get you to buy their version of a time share. Otherwise, with these tips, I would suggest this hotel and I’m hard to please.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

At the hotel, they will take you to a club for like 45-50 dollars per person. This includes getting into the club, drinks, and transportation to the club. Keep in mind, you are on your own to get home.

Fabulous

Food was great, you didn’t have to make reservations, drinks were flowing. Cabanas and pool were fantastic. My only complaint would be to have a complimentary shuttle from airport and more dancing entertainment in the hotel.

We are going back

The pictures on their website do not do this hotel justice. This place is beautiful !! For the price, it is a great value compared to the other all inclusive hotels in Cancun. The hotel was @ 100% occupancy and we still received awesome service. The food was good and they do not skimp on the alcohol. We were so pleased with the hotel we have book another trip to share this wonderful hotel with our adult children.

Traveler's tip on shopping

Beware of the Flea Market, they will harrass you. Also, take the bus if you need to go anywhere outside the hotel. Just tell the driver where you need to go. It’s approx $1.20 usd compared to $15.00 usd for a taxi and they run every 3 minutes.

Even more impressed the second time around!

We had a great time at this resort last year and wanted to return again this year. We upgraded to the presidential suite and were delighted with everything!! We travel often and stay in great places but this will go down as the best vacation yet! The resort got better with time. The food was outstanding, the service second to none, and the resort was so relaxing. I also made reservations for my best friend who just got back Saturday and cried when she thanked me for sending her there. She took the trip of a lifetime. We took one excursion, but just wanted to stay on the property and relax, drink, and enjoy the food. I have never met such awesome employees. I got sunburned pretty bad and Ivan (pool concierge) looked at my shoulders every day and put fresh aloe on it for 7 days straight!! Don’t stay anyplace else but at this resort!

We did the ziplines and ATV excursion and had a great time! Highly recommend.
