"Not the best"
Staff were very helpful. Our room was in need of refurbishment it was tired and smelt of smoke,and we asked for non smoking! Breakfast Buffet was OK. They had run out of scrambled egg and we had to wait 20 min. We would recommend staying at the Shangri-La for this kind of money.

Not worth the money
It is way too expensive for what it has to offer. Hotel and room are dated and need upgrading. Service level is just so so. I left my baseball cap in the room when I checked out and called them in the evening after I arrived home. They said they did not have the cap. I won’t go back. W Hotel is a much better property and at 60% the price of Conrad.

A Great Hotel
My preferred hotel, The Mandarin Oriental, is insanely expensive by comparison, yet I liked the Conrad just as well. The room was extremely well-appointed and very comfortable. I loved the sweeping views and was able to enjoy both the Peak side and the Harbour side because the hotel placed me in a different wing after I returned from a side trip to Macau. Anyone would be happy to stay in such a lovely place. I thought the bathroom, with its marble floors, shower and counter, was divine.
I wasn’t impressed with the French restaurant on the 8th floor. It had a nice view but was freezing cold--they’d set the air conditioning as if the place was full and it was empty. Only after complaining repeatedly did they turn it down--and not so much that we noticed. The food was good but overpriced. They pretentiously decanted a filtered wine, leaving a half-glassful at the bottom as if there were sediment. We made them pour it rather than donate it to the kitchen staff. The Chinese restaurant was quite good, but again the service was fussy and inefficient. We had better luck at the restaurants near the cinema in the Pacific Place mall. Zen had good Chinese food, and there’s a cafe that has excellent muffins for breakfast.
