needs work
The motel needed work. When we first drove into parking lot, we almost drove out the other side, but i said maybe it looks better on the inside. For the first time in my 37 year marriage my wife heard me say i was wrong! We did stay, but only because we had already paid, plus we wanted to hike in the park. The people at the hotel were nice enough, but we so much wanted to leave that i had no trouble talking my wife who usually wants to sleep to nine, into getting up at 5:00 AM to hit the road.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Watkins Glen State park is great, but enter from the lower gorge not the upper gorge. The upper you have to walk down 800 steps and back up. The lower end you just turn around when you reach the steps. Unless you like hiking and want the exercise.
