Excellent surprise
I have stayed in La Jolla for many years at a nearby Inn that is quite economical and well situated. However, when I took this trip with my daughter and needed separate beds, I decided to try the Best Western Inn By the Sea. The location is Excellent - walking distance to the main shopping, restaurants & beach areas of La Jolla. The Inn has its own parking, too. It was lovely, the service was excellent, and everything was comfortable and accommodating. I will stay there from now on, when I return to La Jolla!

Not impressed.
We were surprised upon arrival to find a significant fee each night to park your car. We also had plumbing problems that it took two attempts by hotel maintenance to get fixed.

Great location
Although not really "by the sea" the hotel was within walking distance of the shore front and all other LaJolla attractions. The room was comfortable and clean and the free breakfast was better than expected.
