The Bungalows is at the top of our list for our next holiday
I can’t say enough about the staff and resort. The best example I can use is ... It was Maria’s birthday, so I requested a special dinner thinking I might get a canopy on the beach with burgers!!!:-) They responded with a room with a view and our own maitre d’/chef. Carlos lead Maria into the room dropping rose petals at her feet as she walked in!! The service and food was superb ... steak and lobster!!! When we returned to our room later that night, our maid had arranged rose petals and other flowers forming a path to a freshly drawn hot bath complete with candles!! the path also continued into the room revealing a birthday cake and decorated bed. The whole evening made us feel like royalty. The suite was large and well decorated. The beach volleyball was great. The shows in the evening were entertaining ... cant say enough about this place. We will return!! :-))

Nice place, but service is slow
Good place if you plan to stay by the pool or on the beach. The Bungalows is a part of Sunvillage Resort, and it is quieter and newer than the main resort area. Room was large, clean and comfortable. Restaurant was good, but the menu list was short. Service was OK, a little slow, but in it was extremely slow in the Sunvillage restaurants.
Traveler's tip
Don’t fall for names like oriental or Mexican restaurant - they can’t cook it. If you go to the buffet place don’t be late - it’s hard to find clean table an hour after they open. The area tours are very limited, but don’t wonder outside by yourself - locals will be very persistent in trying to sell anything to you. Also, avoid "property tours" - the membership is not a deal, they don’t mention extra yearly fees, and put it on paper the way you can’t really understand it.

Great Hotel, Horrible Food
The room was really nice and extremely clean but the food was an issue. They seemed to mess up simple things. We had a tough time eating most of the food we ordered and ended up buying chips in salsa for 15 dollars at the gift shop to snack on. I am the opposite of a picky eater and I really didnt understand what was going on in that kitchen.
