Best historic downtown grand hotel in Bologna
For downtown Bolognas historic hotels this is as good as it gets. you feel pampered and elitarian. however, if you compare to the top hotels in other cities for similar prices, it leaves you a little bit short of all the special amenities. with that said, it was great.

La Dolce Vita Bolognese
When my wife and I arrived at the Grand Hotel Baglioni, we were frazzled as the result of a long and excessively challenging trip from Boston. The welcoming demeanor of the reception desk personnel and their ability to tolerate my too-long-unpracticed Italian won my immediate admiration. The physical edifice itself, light, airy, with frescoed ceilings, an atrium, beautiful decorations, and impressive canvases, seems to date from the nineteenth century, although all the amenities have been thoroughly updated. The restaurant and bar are staffed by knowledgeable and friendly food and wine professionals. Less than a week later, I am ready to go back.
