AWESOME - CAN’T WAIT TO RETURN

The food was great, service was great, the beach was beautiful! I can’t wait to go back next year. If you want a hot night life this place is not for you. If you want calm, relaxing, refreshing and no screaming kids - you will love this place.

Very impressed with some reservation

Great service, and wonderful people. Anything you ask for, they do their best to accomodate. However, in all the reviews I have read about the Aura, no one seemed to comment on the fat deposit required upon check-in for the "stainless steel" bracelets needed to receive the all-inclusive amenities. This took a few other couples there by surprise as well. Another issue we had was that there was a little construction project going on outside of our room. Loud chissling into concrete wall does not trigger leisurely ambiance. Due to the consistancy of the extremely painful noise, we requested that the project be postponed until after we checked-out. They were understanding and cooperative. On our last day, we came into our rooms after breakfast to find an apology letter and bottle of champagne on the table. Because of this sincerety, I still left with an overall great impression of my stay.

Best All Inclusive We’ve Ever Been To

What an amazing hotel! And like all the other reviews, the food is SPECTACULAR. The lobster bisque at the Trader’s Lagoon is phenomenal. We really enjoyed the Asian Fusion restaurant (make reservations in the lobby)--they had great Pad Thai and Crab Wontons (and fried cheesecake!). The service was 5-Star hands down. The servers are so friendly and call you by name all week. Although there is not a swim up bar, the drinks are brought to you as fast as you can drink them--and they are STRONG! We enjoyed our room very much. The entire hotel is kept very clean. There is an iPod docking station--which we didn’t know before coming--so bring your music! Our water pressure in the shower was hit or miss--but the shower itself was very nice. The dive operation on site is SandDollar Sports--they have 6 boats, which are in decent condition. Some are more spacious than others, but overall we were satisfied with the dive masters and boat captains. The diving was so much better than what it was 3 years ago! Price for a 2 tank dive is $67 per person, plus a $2 natural reserve fee. They go out at 8am and 1pm everyday and pick you up right at the dock of the hotel (no bus/taxi rides!!). The other reviews mention this, but it is important to know that EVERYONE turns in early at this hotel. It’s dark around 10-11pm. It’s quiet, peaceful, and a great hotel to catch up on rest and relaxation.

Carlos and Charlies is a quick walk just South of the resort. They close at 5pm. At the airport, they tell you a cab into town is $22 each way, but it really costs $14 each way. **The staff is always happy to make change for you so you can tip (many hotels we have been to in the past required change to be made in the lobby).
