what can i say about this hotel my stay was wonderful. i would have given all 5 except they were doing construction but omg this hotel is amazing.... i cnt wait to go back

Better on Paper
We were really dissapointed with our stay at the Divi Pheonix. Our room was recently " renovated" which didnt show. The Jacuzzi in our room didnt work and the fridge was just gross. We read other travelers reviews before we booked but they painted a different picture then what we got. The Hotel didnt have very good amenities. No Room Service! They give you free taxi rides to their casino that they share with the other Divi resorts but that place was a dump. The beach was OK. The staff wasnt very friendly or helpful. Wouldnt stay here again.
Rent a Car!! There is so much more to see on the Island then the bus can get too. Dont get me wrong the bus is great for getting to and from downtown and cruising the hotel district but there are lots of sights that you will miss if you dont rent some wheels. Rent a Jeep if you want to go off roading. Also take the bus from the Airport if you dont plan on having a car the first day. It will save you about 30 bucks. The bus it 1.25! The stores downtown are only open to 6:30pm and are closed on Sundays so plan on shopping early.

Not Impressed
This hotel is a little far from the rest of the hotels. Even though they have newly built complex, they give you room in the old tower suggesting all the rooms are booked in the 6 new towers. The old tower was also under constructions. They had one elevator for 15 floors. Took for ever to get to the room. My advice is stay away from the hotel.
