A little better than expected
We really enjoyed our stay at the Divi Aruba Phoenix. This was our second trip to the island. All rooms have very well equipped kitchens so we made at trip to the grocery store for breakfast foods, snacks and liquor which saved us a lot of $$. The beach is not as crowded as those futher up on Palm Beach, but you have to get up very early to reserve a hut if you want shade. The numerous pools are beautiful and very well maintained with lots of lounge chairs always available. We had trouble witha leak from the a/c unit in one of our rooms and waited less than 5 minutes for housekeeping and maintanence to respond and resolve the issue. Our only negative comments would be that the elevator service was very slow and since our rooms were on the 13th floor in the 14 story tower building (beautiful views from the rooms!) we very often had to wait longer than comfortable to get to and from our room. There was a bit of noise in the lobby area due to construction work but we didnt spend much time hanging out in the lobby. And if you purchase the Expedia/DePalm dining package dont try to use the coupons in either of the 2 on-site restaurants. They didnt know what they were or what their value was and we had to explain and wait ages for the staff to make phone calls so that the bill could be properly calculated. We would definately stay here again.

A must to stay when your in Aruba
We stayed at the Phoenix Beach Resort from Dec 12 -21, 2009 in the new beach towers. The room was perfect. Very big with a full kitchen, living room, dinning room and seperate master suite. There was also an additional full second bathroom. Very clean. Great view of the pool and ocean from the room. Swim up bar is a must. The beach is good for sun bathing but really poor for snorkling. We did most of our beach time down at baby beach where there was far less people and much better snorkling. The pool was very large with multiple option for swiming, lounging and even had a own pool for the kids. Overall the hotel was great and we would love to return.
