"Savannah’s Jewel"
I was very impressed with this beautiful hotel right on the Savannah River overlooking downtown. It was very romantic riding the ferry across to dinner everynight looking back at a beautiful view of the Hotel. The morning breakfast buffet was superb with Southern style cuisine as well as a traditional buffet, including lots of fresh fruit and yogurt. I want to go back to this hotel soon! Other hotels should imitate the qualtiy and service of this hotel! Outstanding!

Great Location
The city of Savannah was just a ferry ride away from the hotel. Was nice not to be right in the city, yet could be there in minutes on the ferry that stopped right outside our hotel doors. Very nice hotel and would definately recommend it. The only problem we had was the concierge desk told us they would have a cab arranged to return us to the hotel after a gambling excursion. We came off the boat to find out we did not have the promised cab. I recommend making your own cab reservations.

Cat owners beware!!!
I am a veterinarian, and I travel with my cats quite often. So, I was very pleased to see that this Westin hotel accepted pets. However, upon check-in I was informed that they did not allow cats--only dogs! "Cats can scratch the furniture," the front desk assistant told me. The hotel website clearly states that "pets are allowed." Nowhere does it mention that cats are excluded. Had I known this, I would not have booked my reservation there. Telling them that my cats are declawed made no difference at all. After arguing with the hotel staff in the lobby in front of other guests and getting the manager involved, they finally allowed me to stay with my cats--provided that I keep them in a "cage" for the duration of my stay. When I checked out a few days later, I was informed by one of the doormen that they have had guests stay there with cats before and have not had a problem. Needless to say, I will not be returning.
