Absolutely the most fabulous All-inclusive in Jamaica. The staff at Couples Negril treated us like royalty, the resort is paradise, the hotel is clean and comfortable and the food is phenomenal. Lots of activities and best of all, their beach loungers have cusions that also serve as floaties in the water.

Amazing Place to stay!

You can not go wrong with this hotel. Everything you need is taken care of. 5 star food all day long, amazing employees that make you feel like family, tons of activities included, top shelf liquor too. Best travel experience we’ve ever had. married at the resort on 9/19/09. Absolutely perfect. Totally safe,no harassment and no tipping allowed. You can’t go wrong. 5 couples we met have been back 10+ times.

Snorkeling tour, Catamaran tour, forget about Margaritaville, better food and entertainment in the resort for free. Rick’s cafe is cool, but arrange your own transportation, as 1 hour is plenty there. Cheap Charlie on the beach is your best bet for souvenirs, as well as the hotel gift shop has some really good prices and items.

Lobster, Lamb Chops, Steaks, Fresh Native Fruits and Vegetables, Omlets, Rum Punch, etc with an unending supply, need I say any more. You can not go wrong.

Couples Negril

This all inclusive package was everything it said it was. Friendly staff, top shelf liquor, wide assortment and high quality food. A minor issue with our ’beachfront’ room was resolved quickly and to our satisfaction. We thought it was an excellent value.

Had a lovely time!

This was our first visit to Negril and prior to going we read as many reviews as possible on tripadvisor which helped us to select this hotel. It was great! Yes the rest area at the airport is not grand, but we were in and out of there in no time; so it didn’t matter. Our bus driver to the hotel was hilarious. We stopped along the way and ate some excellent Jerk Chicken - highly recommend. The hotel had everything ready and waiting for us. There are plenty of activities, but we mostly chilled in a hammock on the beach. Beware of the Hotel Coordinators, they will make you enjoy your stay even more! Thx Fabian, Jermaine, Amanda & Angelique. The food was great, but also very disappointing in that they don’t offer traditional Jamaican cuisines around the clock. We stayed for a week and the only day we ate had a traditional meal was Sunday AM they offered ackee & codfish...it was worth the wait! We’re going thru withdrawal now - wishing we were still there playing beach volleyball with the coordinators and other wonderful guests from around the globe.

Negril’s best

Hotel and staff were great. You can’t beat Jamaican hospitality. The ed aren’t the most comfortable, but you spend most of your time on the beautiful beach and crystal clear water. Definitely recommended.

just to save the time of repeating all the good comments, our experience at the hotel was amazing, the two most important recommendations- stay there at least for 5 days, and plan your days the night before to take advantage of all the activities! Enjoy!

Irie!

My wife and I just returned from our 8-night stay at Couples Negril. The lobby and the grounds are beautiful. We had a deluxe beachfront room (Building 8, first floor). Our patio was literally steps from the beach. The room was an adequate size, and though not luxurious, was clean and nice enough. My only complaint regarding our room was that the bathroom could have been a little larger. As all-inclusives go, the food and drinks at Couples Negril is better than most, although still nothing to rave about. The breakfast buffet was very good--don’t miss the ackee and saltfish. The service at all of the restaurants was downright speedy by Jamaican standards, and the waitstaff were very friendly. In my opinion, Couples Negril’s greatest asset is its beach. It’s very large for a resort of this size, and the sand and water are beautiful. Although we didn’t spend much time there, the main pool was large and very nice. While we were at Couples Negril we both got our PADI Open Water diving certifications and went on several dives. The dive master (Karl, aka Sugar) and the dive instructors (especially Craig) were excellent. I doubted that my wife would actually complete the course (I figured she would chicken out), but with Sugar’s and Craig’s calm and reassuring guidance, she passed with flying colors. Overall, Couples Negril is a great place to enjoy a relaxing beach vacation. The few shortcomings we encountered were minor and didn’t hinder our enjoyment of the trip.

Although Couples is officially a no-tipping resort, the employees will accept tips if offered discreetly. A few strategically given tips of US$5 will get you VIP service.

good deal!

staff is great. food is excellent. hotel is nice. hotel is showing its age but when i was there they were updating the hotel one building at a time so eventually the whole property will be like new again. plenty of free activities. definitely do the free catamaran cruise. overall experience was great.

Amazing Service and Staff!

This hotel was wonderful. The staff was so freindly and really wanted guests to have a great time, and it was all-inclusive so it really felt genuine! We met amazing people and drank our money’s worth at the swim-up bar. Our hotel room was always clean and fresh and the resturants were wonderful, with great food. I would go back again in a minute. Our only complaint was the trip to Jimmy’s Buffet’s Margarita Ville...no Buffet songs and way too "spring breaky" for our taste...other than that, Couples Negril isa great place to go.

Great place to stay.

This was a great place to stay. Everything was above our expectations. The food was awesome. We didnt have a bad meal the whole time we were there. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The staff was great. All the bars served top shelf liquor. The only complaint that we had was the bed was uncomfortable.

You will get a better deal at the duty free shop in the airport before you leave.

Will be returning next year. The very best place we have every been.

Staff is very nice and extreamly helpful. No need to leave the resort, venders come and set up shop on the beach.

Amazing

My wife and I went to Couples Negril after pouring over online reviews for resorts in the Caribbean. We finally decided on CN and neither of us really expected it to live up to our exceptionally high expectations. But it did. Pros: The staff was incredible. Everyone from the bartenders to the directors to the cooks was just a joy to interact with. I even had a roomcleaning lady take the time to teach me how to make a swan out of a towel. Food was superb (and plentiful). And the 4 restaurants provided plenty of variety. Activities were great. And instructors for said activities were very knowledgeable and fun to be around. I highly recommend the scuba and the snorkeling and the water skiing. I could probably write for days about how much of a good time the wife and I had on our 8 days in paradise. But you should really do yourself a favor and go see it for yourself. I promise that you won’t be disappointed.

When you go - you know!

A week at Couples Negril was the best vacation we’ve ever had. We were celebrating our 20th anniversary and it was awesome. The food was excellent regardless of where we ate. Whether it was the Beach Grill for lunch, Lychee or Otahetie for dinner, or especially a private dinner on the beach. The entire time we were there nobody said "no" to any request.

Wonderful vacation

My husband and I have been to many all inclusive places and this was by far the best. It is actually the first hotel we have stayed at that we want to go back to. The service was great. Reasons why we love couples negril include: 1) You get red flags to put in the sand at the beach or on the table at the pool to indicate you would like a server to come take your drink order 2) The chairs have a full length floaty on them which makes them more comfortable and they are so nice to lay on in the pool or ocean 3) They have nice name-brand liquor 4) The food is delicious for all meals 5) For dinner there is one restaurant that you can make reservations for and it is great, but all of the others are great too and you don’t have to make reservations and they are still full service (as opposed to buffet). 6) The entertainment was excellent. There were some really good bands, singers, steel drums. It was really good. 7) They provide a shuttle to and from the airport. When you arrive at the airport they have a lounge with a restroom and a bar with cold water and red stripe 8) They have a catamaran cruise with a water slide off of it (so fun!!!) 9) Everyone there was so nice and always smiling 10 ) The beach was awesome!!!! NO Rocks, No seaweed. Just soft clean sand and clear water. Would go back in a heartbeat.

The people were so friendly and take care of you the second you get through customs! The food was delicious! Between the fresh squeezed pineapple juice mimosa’s to the Jerk chicken & sushi...OMG we can’t wait to go back for the food alone! Fantastic pool/beach area, absolutely stunning grounds. Our only gripe is not booking a longer stay!

About what I expected, set your expectations appropriately

Our experience was consistent with most reviews. Positives: Plenty of recreation, beautiful beach, wonderful service. Negatives: Trip from airport to resort, hotel is showing it’s age (clean but not pristine, building exteriors are in need of maintenance). We stayed only 4 nights/5 days, big mistake. Easily could have stayed longer. Most guests either mid-twenties or 50s-60s (so we were mid-forties and kinda tweeners). Room was clean, but showing its age. Be ready for tropic climate (things always seem "damp"). In room bar stocked whenever requested. Bathroom kept clean...and no bugs of any kind. Food was ample and very good. Lots of dining choices, just take care in your scheduling (each restaurant is closed at least once/week, and buffett availability changes). Folks complaining about quality probably should look at other vacation options Everyone we met was kind, and accommodating. Tipping is not expected, but we did so whenever service rose above expectations (e.g. when groundskeeper climber tree to pick a coconut for us!) Plenty to do. Water sports are great, though scheduling a bit tricky. Daily activities are ok, and evening shows are adequate. Piano bar is most fun (and widerr range of beer). Pool bar is a good place to meet folks. Plenty of chairs, and volleyball always going on. No hassles from vendors. A simple "no" sufficed. We had little interest in leaving the resort. Would definitely return. Cost seems high but well in line for what you get.

Evening Catamaran cruise was awesome(included, but only a few nights each week). Sit out front for romantic sunset or join others "below" for dancing/drinking/partying. Swim through caves, watch cliff divers, all big fun.

Absolutely Wonderful!!!

We really enjoyed our recent visit to Couples Negril. From the moment we arrived at the Montego Bay airport, the staff from the resort were absolutely amazing. Anything they could do to make your stay more enjoyable they would. The resort itself was VERY nice and so relaxing. We honestly did very little other than enjoy the AMAZING beach floating on the provided rafts and eat WONDERFUL food the entire trip. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway, this is definitely the place to go. I was more than impressed and can’t wait to go back.

A Faboulous Second Honeymoon!

My husband and I had planned a trip to a different location and changed to Couples a week before our trip....so glad we did!!! The staff was incredible, food was good, and the resort was wonderful. We relaxed, which is something we never do on vacation, and I would go back in a second. You will definately have a great time if you chose Couples for your vacation!!!

Ric’s Cafe was a great place to see, just don’t dive off the big cliff.....most tend to be sore afterwards for a few days!!

Couples Negril was beautiful.It was well staffed and they were very friendly.All you had to do was ask and someone would be there to help you."No Problem" A great place to go to relax and enjoy the sunset.

NOT THE BEST BUT NICE !

the resort is "B" rated. everything was adequate. i did find jamaica to be friendlier in 2002. a little too much "no problem", "no care". but we all had a good time. i have been more pleased with my other all inclusive resort experiences at a slightly higher cost, especially from a friendliness and service standpoint. but this was my first Couples and to be fair i should try another Couples resort somewhere.

take your pepsi or diet pepsi from the room to breakfast, because all you will get is water and coffee. i don’t care how many times you ask. and there is no diet coke. don’t do the shopping tour or snorkeling, neither are good even though free. find bill farmer, he will take care of you.
