great first stay

Paris is located in a great place mid-strip. We were able to walk to most surrounding hotels and since we had a rental car we drove down to those further out. We used the valet and we had our car quicker than if we had self parked w/o all the hassle. At $1 or $2 each time, it was quite a bargain. We self parked at some of the other hotels with no problem. As for the hotel itself, we had a nice time. I liked it b/c it was our first trip to Vegas and it wasn’t overwhelmingly big like some of the other hotels we visited. As seen in other reviews, there wasn’t a coffee maker in the room so we made a trip to Wal-mart and bought a cheap one and some to go cups for the week. It was much cheaper and convenient than ordering a pot or going down to a coffee shop. I wasn’t very impressed with the mattress in the room. I woke up stiff and didn’t sleep very well. I usually can sleep just about anywhere so this was a bit off the norm. Outside of those two minor issues I think Paris is a really nice hotel and would recommend staying there.

The city is great fun but it was nice to get away a few days. Of course you have to go see most of the hotels on the strip but if you have extra time here’s a few ideas. We had a rental car for the week, so we drove out to see the Grand Canyon (really long day, not for those who can’t handle long car trips), Hoover Dam, and Valley of Fire State Park. We drove out to the West rim of the Canyon. It was about 5 1/2 hours each way so it makes for a very long day. There’s a free shuttle bus system that I highly recommend. It is easy to use and it takes you to different spots along the rim. If your lucky you’ll get an informative driver who will point things out. We found out about a spot that was a shorter hike that way, so we got to go down into the canyon a little. I think this is a place that deserves a longer trip. Hoover Dam was really interesting. The new bypass bridge is amazing to see itself. You can only tour parts of it now but I thought it was well worth the money to take the tour. It took us about 4 hours to drive out, take the tour, leisurely walk around and get back. Valley of Fire State Park is about an hours drive outside of Vegas. We took a tour with Char Cruze. I highly recommend it if you can. She met us at the hotel and rode with us. She has great knowledge of the area. We stopped for lunch at a local deli and made a few other stops that we wouldn’t have made on our own. The park itself is phenomenal. You feel like your on another planet. Even if you can’t take the tour, the park is amazing and you can drive through it yourself. Be sure to get out so you can see some of the petroglyphs.

Very Impressed

I have been vacationing in Las Vegas for 30 years now. I must say that the Paris Hotel and Casino was by far one of the best I’ve stayed at. The selection of restaurants, the shopping, the facility itself, the rooms and the staff were all exceptional. The only draw back that comes to mind was that because of the new City Center, once it got to be around 3:00pm the pool area lost virtually all the sun as it was blocked by the City Center.

Paris, Las Vegas

Been to Vegas many times, first time at Paris. Will absolutely stay there again. Room was clean and well furnished. Staff easy to work with, courteous. Nicest hotel for the money I have ever had the pleasure to stay in.
