Great Spot for Fancy People

Loved the Halekulani. We stayed there for our honeymoon on the recommendation of numerous people. It was clean, nice, comfortable, the on-site restaurants are great - no complaints at all! And they even give you a little gift every night at turn-down...thought that was a sweet touch. Highly recommend House Without a Key for breakfast buffet every morning. We were not there for a Sunday morning so never tried the Orchid Buffet but it is supposed to be the best on the island. Enjoy!

Wonderful

We stayed at the Hilton a few weeks earlier - this place had it all over them! The food was amazing, views from most rooms. We got a really good deal and ended up having a ball.

Return Visit Guaranteed

The hotel staff was very friendly and knew my wife and I by name when they greeted us. Very knowledgeable and always willing to help. Beautiful hotel right on the beach with a pool and restaurants that were highly maintanined. They definitely will have our business back whenever we go back to Hawaii.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

To get the most out of your stay, I would consult with the Concierge like we did. They were very knowledgeable and told you what they had heard and what they themselves have tried.

checking was slow and terrible

There are plenty of availabe rooms. and I stayed for three nights and no up grade etc. It is not too inviting for the next trip which will be in Oct.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Stay in other hotel because this is out of date and over charged.

Awesome! Can’t say enough bout this hotel!

Gorgeous hotel! Beautiful grounds, very helpful and courteous staff. Not much actual beach at hotel, but we tanned at the pool and the ocean was just a few steps away. Room was terrific, view was spectacular. Wow! Staff made us feel special, not like just another guest. Turn-down service, little gifts each day, paper each morning. Can’t wait to go back!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Had breakfast at Denney’s right across the street, half the price of the hotel’s restaurant. Plenty of shopping and restaurants within short walk. Went to Pearl Harbor on city bus ($2 each way pp), but it took forever and we had to stand most of the way. Taxi was very expensive, would recommend renting a car.

Ohau’s Best Hotel!

The Halekelani is by the far the nicest hotel on Wakiki! It has the best pool/grounds of any 5 star hotel on Ohau’s famous beach. You are treated like Kings and Queens. The only place to stay when visiting this island.

Good place to stay

The room had a very nice view from the pool and the beach, it was always clean and comfortable, the staff was attentive and efficient. The Concierge is excellent. The happy hour is unforgetable, with the hulla dancers and very good musicians. Only the restaurant’s recepcionists made mistakes about our party’s reservation and let my husband waiting for me inside the restaurant and I was kept waiting for him outside.

Best in Waikiki by far

We’ve been to Waikiki several times with various different size parties and budgets, so we’ve seen a pretty wide range of options there. Halekulani is by far the best, but of course we spent more on this trip too. Use the concierge service for any questions or needs, they were fantastic and always happy to help.

Traveler's tip

Tip the housekeeping staff! They clean up after you every day, leave a little something on the pillow to show you’re not taking them for granted.

Great Hotel in Waikiki

The grounds of the hotel are really nice, the service is good, and the rooms are really nice and clean. We loved the little things they leave every night for turn down service.

Traveler's tip on dining

You have to go to Nobu which is accross the street from the hotel. It has a nice ambiance and really good food.

Awesome Experience!

This is truly one of the finest hotels in the world! The service is flawless, the staff impeccable. From the ice buckets being filled twice daily to the fresh orchids on our pillows each evening, the amenities here make this my first choice on Oahu. It’s also within walking distance to many sites and excellent shopping. This place is first class all the way!

Can’t wait to go back for my anniversary!

Oh my God! It was paradise on earth! I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. Not only because I got engaged, married, and was on my honeymoon there, but because everything was so exquisite. Especially the bed, how compfortable was that?! I didn’t have a problem with the time change. I love that they leave little gifts on your bed, so you can’t wait to get to your room. The restaurants have the sweetest food. What a delicacy! The staff was very hospitable and friendly. Oh and the view, the view from my room (which was quite large) was just breathtaking. Perfect for pictures! I miss it, I can’t wait to go back!

Traveler's tip on shopping

I would really recommend this hotel for a romantic get away, that’s in the center of it all!

Thoroughly Enjoyable

A restful and elegant environment. Rooms were very nice, uncluttered, quiet, with many thoughtful touches. Our room had a beautiful view. Service was expert and we never waited for anything. We ate at all the hotel’s restaurants, including La Mer and Nobu (in a sister hotel across the street), and each was enjoyable in every respect. It was great to be steps away from all the action of waikiki, yet able to retreat into the restful elegance of the halekulani.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

If you’ve had a hectic day in Waikiki, don’t miss afternoon tea at the hotel.

Satisfied

I enjoyed sitting around the pool. If one wants to sit on the sand, this hotel is not for you as the beach is small. Both the service and food were excellent.

Traveler's tip on dining

There are plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance.

pretty good, but not best.

Very nice, but serious want of stuffs(especially pool bar stuffs.) Rooms are very clean, but old and too small as a five star hotel.I thought that it’s about time to renew this hotel.(at least TV and carpet.)

Could be better

have stayed here at least 5 times. Overall is the only top notch hotel available in Waikiki. The room is relatively small and room design/amendity are dated. Bathroom and sleeping area are divided a closet with a sliding door. Sound proof is poor. An upgrade of the room is required. Hotel service and atmosphere are great.

Excellent service

We had a wonderful week - the staff is superb without exception. The food is generally good and the French restaurant is even better than most restaurants we have visited in France. The hotel is by no means stunning or particularly luxurious but they have many personal touches that elevate it to what one might expect from a top class hotel.

Traveler's tip on shopping

Take your passport and/or tickets with you when you shop as there are a number of Duty Free benifits available to you in the luxury stores if you live or are travelling on outside of the US.

Magical Place

This is the kind of hotel that anticipates your needs before you know you have them. The staff is amazingly helpful and a joy to deal with. The hotel is lovely, restaurants wonderful - we tried all but the Jazz or tea place. Our room was large and luxurious. Each day there we received some kind of gift from the hotel- a lovely fruit and cheese plate the first night, champagne the next, a gift-wrapped conch shell the next and so on.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

We highly recommend this for those celebrating a special occasion as they will go out of their way to make dinners special and romantic with little complementary extras like champagne and special desserts etc. If you are going to splurge, this is the place to do it.

Nice big city hotel

Very nice hotel, very formal with dress codes for the restaurants, a bit anachronistic at the beach. The service was excellent, but overall it was not as comfortable as our resort stay on Maui.

First Time to Oahu, Only hotel I will ever stay at on this Island

We got in on a late flight, check in took approx 2 minutes, they took all our bags before check in and walked us up to our room and showed us around, 2 minutes later all of our bags were brought up... the concierge was there whenever we needed anything, House without a key has an excellent (albeit a little pricey) breakfast buffet. One of the other hotels restraunt Orchids has excellent dinner (again a little pricey). If you go please try their coconut cake!! I must mention the elevators, theyre very fast, getting to the top floor in merely seconds! Checkout was VERY easy, our bill was ready for us to sign and a taxi with our bags in it already as soon as we walked out... Every night for turn down there would be a new "gift" on our bed...a nice touch... this hotel is literally right on the beach, it would seem that every room at least has a partial view of the ocean.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Rent a car, theres shopping local to the hotel that you can go through in a day. International marketplace is nice to visit for souveneirs and such. There was construction on the street in front of the hotel at the time of our visit. You couldnt hear it most of the time. It was noticable though when we had our patio door open. Theres a Dennys across the street, be prepared to wait no matter what time of day
