Pleasantly Surprised, Would gladly stay again
This hotel was in a great location right off the interstate overlooking the Smokies, right next to a Waffle House and probably 1/2 mile from Wal-Mart and some other shopping. We didnt have any trouble getting in the parking lot even though the drive is kind of steep. We had an easy check-in, our request for 3 rooms together was honored, and we were put on the same floor as the Indoor Pool, which was awesome. Ok, awesome is a stretch but to be able to swim in October is unusual in a 2 star hotel. It was small but not crowded - actually no one else was there - and perfect for myself and my daughter, and the water was toasty warm. Our room was clean and spacious with a frige and microwave, 3 big chunky pillows on each bed, and a nice hot shower with good pressure. Plenty of room for 2 adults, 1 child, and another child in a playpen. It was a front-facing room and if it hadnt been raining we would have had a beautiful view. The only negatives about the room were a musty smell at first, but running the air got rid of that, and there was a tiny hole in one of the bedspreads that kind of looked like a cigarette burn. I read several complaints about the breakfast but I thought it was a very adequate continental breakfast - cereal, toast, bagels, milk, juice, and really good donuts. Overall we were pleasantly surprised, thought it was a great value for the price, and would gladly stay again.
