We would go back
The hotel rooms are certainly basic, however for the low rates to get a large room with an ocean view and great beach and pool access -while feeling 100% safe, it was more than worth it. We would go back as a couple or a family. Staff is fery friendly and accomodating.

Decent value for price in old town Puerto Vallarta
The staff was friendly, the property was clean and it was in the middle of it all in old town Puerto Vallarta. The only real complaint we had was that the toilet did not flush very well. Granted that could be an issue with any hotel in Mexico but the problem seemed to come and go with no explaination. We reported the issue but it never was resolved and several times we had to use the bathroom in the lobby instead of the one in our room. The mattress on the bed was a lot harder than we would have liked but it was quiet and we were able to sleep.
