Friendly service, fading decor, problematic neighborhood
The staff were friendly, cheerful, professional, top rate. The Phillipe Starck decor is interesting, but trendy goes stale faster than fish left on the counter, and this seems headed that way, though just a personal opinion. The property is in the Tenderloin district with sleazy businesses surrounding it. I suppose a typical problem with downtowns in many cities, but it certainly is not a charming location. If you want to walk, need to be downtown, and don’t plan to walk alone at night, this is a good hotel, and a good value.

Happy we stayed here instead!
We ended up staying here because the hotel we wanted was booked. We will stay here again for sure! The room was very comfortable. The best nights sleep in a long time. The only complaint is the bathroom is a little cramped but I guess that’s what you get with a boutique hotel.

Firm Beds
The hotel is beautiful and the staff very friendly. The workout room is great. The location is wonderful. But there was a problem; the bed was so hard that we woke up in pain.
